Looking at the construction of the wing I would say it's very strong for its weight, there's an aweful lot of space in there! I see the starboard tail plane is missing a rib![badass]

Do it now, you may never get another chance

lovely looking thing, I do wonder if your proposed film covering will offer enough stiffness though ( just my humble opinion).

balsa is best.

Just my two penny'oth but that type of single spar wing construction relies fairly heavily on the skin for torsional stiffness.
I believe the original would have been either heavy weight tissue (2 layers?), nylon or even silk, all of which become pretty rigid when doped and fuel proofed.
Almost by definition a CL stunt model is going to put the wing under quite some load and a rapidly changing one at that.
It is possible that a more flexible wing covering could impair its ultimate stunt performance.

I think i will add some more spars as i dont want to go to the doping route as i cannot buy it in cyprus
So it will be film covered

To achieve full benefit from the extra spar the ribs between the spars need to be 'filled in' with thin sheet or diagonal braced. This will in effect make the two spars into a single torsion box.

Mine was covered with TERYLYNE from a barbers jacket. Quite heavy stuff and made her really stiff and strong. Just like a cleaver When I crashed her and broke off the engine on half inch ply the wings remained intact . Even when buried about an inch in the ground.

Anything will fly given enough power

Got the wing out today to do a bit of sanding
Had a nice soft cushion of flowers to do it on
But after ten minutes it started to rain AGAIN

Having got through the pre op test
And my op scheduled for 1 o clock Monday, and it's at a private hospital, even though it on the NHS I thought it's safe to book my flight home which I did for next Saturday :cheer: :cheer:
I got a letter this morning telling me the op had had to be moved:ohmy:
I read a little further and found it had been moved from 1 o clock
To 4 o clock same day;) ;)

All the best that you can manage this Tony, normally need stitch removal and wound check, and flight a bit soon perhaps.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.
