I'm sure you'll work that one out as speedy as you do your building.

Would this work, Tony? You'll need to play about with dimensions, to get it sliding freely without slop.
Something similar was made commercially, but I've not seen it for a long time.

ps - I missed off that the two ellipses are slots, one up and down in the fixed portion, and one angled in the slider.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Kavan used to be good kit. They look like a better engineered version of my sketch, only using an assymetric hinge-line for the rotational conversion.

Tony
The only problem is those types of hinge work at a low mechanical advantage so there is comparatively little rod movement thus requiring high forces from the servo.

well i have ordered a set to see what they are like.
if they are ok, i will use them for the flaps and then have a re think about the ailerons.

started making the ailerons today, but not got very far with them. :(

well the first design was not very successful, too flimsy.
building them scale was not going to work.

so i went back to the old method.
solid sheet center section with half ribs.
wont be seen when covered will it.

well the ailerons are made now, i need to shape the leading edges and then hinge them ready for fitting.

got to wait and see if these hinge horns i ordered are any good before i can go any further with them.

well, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
spent an age bending wire to make the roof wires, not sure if they are right though.
they look fairly close to the pics i have, i take it the plastic roof panel does not touch them.

if they are ok, i will glue them in tomorrow ans then solder thee center together.
will have to make the trim tab winder to got there as well.

remind me next time to build something less complicated. ;)

want to look at the cabin inner uprights tomorrow.
i plan to run wire down each upright from the wing rods down under the floor to give some more strength to the cabin area.
then we have the rear wire supports and the front glazing bars.
once all this lot is done the whole cabin area will be massively stronger than it is now, though i cant pull the wing supports off the fuselage at the moment anyway.

the glazing will be fun, lots of curved plastic needs to be formed.
