well the retract for the tail wheel turned up today.
so i have cut a big hole in the fuselage.

and made up the retract mount.

hope to glue it in tomorrow. then i need to sort the steering servo and think about how to make up the oleo leg for the twin tail wheels.

Have you thought about using some gash retracts mounted on their sides to operate the bay doors?

Do it now, you may never get another chance

plated with the bomb doors today.
the retract servo is just the job Garry.

i need to trim the doors to get them shut square and hide the servo under a depth charge.

Nice - but did I hear the servo chattering when the doors are closed? It might need a couple more millis length on the rods.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Looks very good. :P
Just a small point but you have set the linkage to 'lock out' (goes over centre) on open where as it would be normal for it to lock out on closed so the doors could be held tight shut without the servo feeling any of the load.

the arms cross over when closed Q, as i said it needs refining now.
the edges of the doors need trimming so they shut flush and the arm mounts need ball joints for smoother operation.
this was just a bodge it and see if it works experiment.
as it does work i can spend some time today making it work better. fingers crossed

looks like it hinges on the two weak bits and one more in the middle
so if i fir hinges on the center section i will be close enough for my level of scale.
thanks monz.

I bet on the shack those 'weak bits' are great lumps of solid ally. :P :P

Tony,
if I remember correctly, there were 2 hinges comprising big bolts. the middle "hinge" is in fact the operating rods for the Balance tab and Trim tab. can't remember which was which, though logic says the top ones are trim, but then logic doesn't sit well with the Shack!!

have a look at these hinges www.hobbylinc.com/htm/rob/rob310.htm . they'll carry the load easily
