regarding thrust tube lengths and intake sizes.
i am thinking of intakes in the wing leading edges and a single exhaust out of the rear of the fuselage.

It needs to be about 70 or so inches wingspan and capable of handling a turbine.

Don't forget, you won't get much static thrust from a d/f, because the blades of the impeller are pretty well stalled. Once n the air, the thrust will come up, and the amps will go down, as the fan unloads.

A ducted fan is only about half as efficient as a prop so to get any sort of endurance you need to carry a bigger battery but for the same total weight.
The other issue, as Eric pointed out, is that a ducted fan's propulsive efficiency rises with speed but of course so does the airframe drag but by the square!
I think you might have to significantly alter the Funfly aerodynamically to get it to go fast enough for the fan to see any benefit.

Basic wing frame is built and i am playing with the edf fitting location.
this is the front of the mount incorporating the wing brace along the twin spars.
Second support/mount and the tail end of the exhaust.
the exhaust will be planked from behind the unit to just proud of the rear former.
the l/e will be cut away and this is where the intakes will be made.
two triangular intakes either side of the fuselage giving about 40 sqcm total intake area.
