TOP FLIGHT MUSTANG

TOP FLIGHT MUSTANG was created by Ex-Member
Picked up a part built kit the other day and thought i best start clearing the backlog of unfinished builds i have.
so yesterday i had a sort out of the box of bits and today i made a start.
the main wing is built apart from the flaps, ailerons and u/c.
the tail and fin have been built.
the fuselage is almost complete.

so today i managed to fit the tailplane and fin and started sheeting the top of the fuselage.

why do designers insist on making you fit a huge lump of wood, then carve and sand it to almost nothing. :angry:

rudder is sanded to shape ready to cover and fit.

rudder now has the control horn fitted and the tail wheel steers as you turn the rudder.

PLODing on at a steady pace. :P

done a little bit to the mustang today.

The air intake was cut to the wrong size, so i had to do some fettling.

Been trawling the internet looking for ideas for this one.

The mustang was designed for the raf, the usaf did not want it to begin with.
the brits named it the mustang.

this colour i think with drop tanks, i might have to tie them in with the flaps, so i can lower the flaps and drop the tanks at the same time.

might have to build a second one in the original mkI setup.
looked like a bf109, but then again i dont like to repeat build now.

Got the other side to fill tomorrow and then i can sand them down.
