i have built three ww2 warbirds so far this year and have just about finished all the plans for them, so my mind turned to the next small model.
9th scale
Hawker sea Hawk
will be rolling off the production line by christmas. i hope.
single edf with split intakes and outlets.
all Depron as usual.
hand launch and belly land.
more to follow as i get on with it.

i will be adding more detail to the plan as i go along, mainly because i have not worked out to do some of the build yet.
basic fuselage core printed out and ready to be cut out, i will need two of these as i intend to build the fuselage in two halves and then join them later.
the nose will be blue foam and the canopy removable to fit the battery.

i need to part sheet the fuselage so i can take a look at the 3mm ply edf mount/dihedral braces at some point.
making the wing spars now and then i can offer the wing cores up to help with these braces.

wing spars made and glued on.
wings fit where i want them to, so tomorrow i can make up the edf mounts/dihedral braces and get on with some sheeting of the fuselage.

cut 2 bits of depron and stuck them on the fuselage
looking at the edf mount/dihedral braces now.
there would be two of these with a 6mm deron core making up one edf mount and dihedral brace combo.
there would be a second mount/brace behind the edf unit.
they also would sandwich the spars.
discuss please.

Two points
1. Is that hole in the former the size of the EDF? It looks a little small to me compared to the size of the rest of airframe.
2. Is that the actual shape of the former? I thought the Sea Hawk fuselage was basically circular in cross section.
You are using balsa/Depron/balsa spars? You have to think how best to divide each spar so it goes round the EDF duct top and bottom but keeping to the same I beam configuration.
I would do it something like this:
Curving the balsa flanges could be an issue unless each was built up from thin (1mm?) layers.
In my experience you don't have to mount an EDF particularly rigidly. They don't vibrate much (or they destroy themselves if they do!) so you only have to resist the thrust which tends to be quite modest.

i just want to be able to fit the wings later rather than having to build it all in one piece.

Your wing centre section would still basically be the same it is just that the former(s) would pick up wing joiner tubes.
With bifurcated ducts you might find you have to make do with a single joiner (or two close together) with short locating lugs fore and aft.
It might pay to move your wing join outboard a bit so the inner tube mounting is not limited by the EDF ducting.
