Myself and a few neighbours have very happy vibes about THAT tree's demise. I will use a few bits of it to have a celebration BBQ, (read Braai in SA) next summer
PS, BBQ in Scotland in case some one jumps to conclusions

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

You should not be to keen on nailing my feet to the floor in your build shop as what skill i had has gone in the last couple of years for some reason, a bit like my health i suppose you could call it old age but iv never been one to blame something else for my own shortcomings

I don't fancy being barbequed! (and I doubt I'd taste very nice, anyway!)

Dont know whether this should be on here or the Bucker thread, as i have been giving the bucker a make over for some time and now i have got to squeeze it into a box no more than 1580mm in length to go on the Airbus 380 to Doha and then the Boeing 787 to South Africa i made the fin detachable and then decided it will be better to remove the tail feathers that are 825mm in span so that it can pack better
In view of all the work thats been done on the fuselage and cowl and the rehinging of the elevators to be more like the real one i have to repaint them all, the wing need touching up in places and the centre section needs repainting
I was wondering if SIR would like another colour on the fuselage and cowl as i remember ten years ago when i built it you remarking about there should be bright colours on it
I painted it in the colours of the 1936 model that flew in that years Olympic games in Germany

As long as she's here I don't give a damn! Sky Blue Pink with Yellow dots? Mary suggests Sandy Grey Russet!

I have good news and bad news. The good is Mary and I are getting better, the bad is we've had Covid. I don't ever remember feeling so rough. "death where is thy sting?" doesn't even come close.

I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy. My Tenants kids had it, they weren't even in the same room but we had to repair 2 ceilings in the house and still got it.

One of the problems about being so isolated is we never get what's going around, we interface with very few people (one, and that's only once a week!)

Here's something I found on another forum, that may be of interest to those of us who like 'playing' with electronics -
-
I've come across a novel but unusual boost switcher.  The Pololu range. TheU1V10F5 takes an input from 0.5V (actually I tested it to a tiny bit lower) up to 5V and it gives a 5V output. But  this is where things go differently. If you increase the input voltage above what it is supposed to deliver, the device drops into a linear regulator mode keeping Vout at 5V. MAximum input current (in switcher mode) is 1.2A so Iout is whatever it needs to be to achieve that.  Efficiency approaches 90% for Vin at 3V So ideal for generating a supply from a single NiMh or dry cell. Also useful for Li-ion except that in  that case you'd have to check for minimum discharge voltage as this would carry on until the point the cell is damaged by too low a terminal V.  They make other voltage ones too, 3.3v and adjustable. But the thing about this that's a bit weird.  They only seem to be available as modules, eg. from the Pi-Hut where I got mine.

I've searched for the data sheet and they only ever show the ready built module, about10mm square, never details or specs on the raw device.

If anyone finds the forum  pages are acting up or running very slowly, I've reported it to Mikey admin.
But as he only deals with problems in his spare time, don't expect a quick result.
