Notice how much better the G/W (efficiency) figure is as the power is reduced.
Its not how well it flies at full power but just how little is required..

Here's something similar regarding props.
Yes, it's a narrow-boat, but the same rules apply - rpm's, torque, current draw, diameter, and pitch -
They are eliminating all possible variations by using the same boat, motor, and gearbox, in the same place, on the same day. The ONLY thing changed was the prop(s)

While I'm logged on, a quick update.
I took it up to the field for my recent training section to get someone to give it a whirl.
It lifted off quite well but then the wind, which had picked up since earlier in the day, caught it & it adamantly refused to listen to the commands which resulted in a nose-dive from about 20ft. No real damage, just a broken prop.
Once retrieved it could be seen that the wings had shifted so the conclusion was that their fixing wasn't secure enough & the wind had shifted them resulting in an unflyable configuration.
The centre of the wing looked too weak to take any tighter wingbands & there was no location devices so I've adding some balsa sheet to the upper LE & TE where the wingbands cross over & two strips underneath where the wing sits on the seat side-pieces & will add a couple of blocks to locate it on the wing seat.
While covering the additions with the polyester fabric & water-based dope it again formed blebs which I shrunk back with the heat iron. It seems that the fabric absorbs the water in the dope & stretches. In the videos on you-tube of Mark Croucher using this type of covering he uses cellulose-based dope & he doesn't have this problem so it looks like the water-based stuff isn't suitable for this technique.

I've modified the wing seat & it seems alot better now but for a variety of reasons I haven't been up to the flying field so its sitting waiting for its next trial.
I ordered some more stuff & the TE's I wanted for the buzzard. I covered the wings yesterday with polyester fabric. I've also now got some cellulose shrinking dope, hopefully it produces a better result than the water-based stuff. I'll have to tidy up the shed so I've got the space & ventilation to use it.
I'll do some posts now of what else I've been doing in the meantime.

I finally got round to cleaning the bench in the shed & collecting some jars together (I hope the smell of pickled onions doesn't persist) to get a start on cellulose doping the Buzzard wings. I've given the undersides three coats of 50/50 & will leave it overnight to dry properly.
When I was a kid there wasn't all this fuss about dope or balsa cement. I would have done it all in the house, probably in the front room.

I didn't mention it but when I went to cellulose dope the Buzzard wings I had to heat shrink the polyester fabric again, it had slackened off & there were quite large blebs on the balsa sheeting at the leading edge.
So I found the little test piece that I'd done to try out the fabric & water based dope. It was still taut. It had just been sitting on a bookshelf & not subject to sunlight or temperature changes so I think its that which is slackening the fabric. When I took the Slider to the field it was noticeable how it had slackened.
I brushed some cellulose onto the test piece so see if there was any interaction, there wasn't so I've cellulose doped the fuselage & tail of the Buzzard & will cellulose the Slider.
