Not a wink of sleep last night so not a good day today, but i did find a box with some short scraps of balsa in it so onward we went
Bit more of the tail feathers done and i doodled the fin and found some short 3/16 balsa to build it

And the order i made yesterday morning from Balsa Cabin turned up this morning but i never heard the bell and the others were out so the driver took it back with him
And on the porch door we have a big sticker that says leave parcels in the porch

Got my parcel so done some more, drew the fuselage sides and cut them from 3mm balsa
and marked out the former for the motor to mount on and glued it in place

then i started on the underside of the wing, sheeting the leading edge and trailing edge and then the cap strips

Also made up a former ror the fuselage

Then started on the under side of the wing, pinned the spar down and packed up the trailing edge to keep everything true

Looks really nice.
That is a pretty substantial wing section. Lots of slow speed lift but no speed merchant.

Big gap in the middle of the elevator. What are you going to mount the horn on?

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Slowly onward had a go at the landing gear, drew it first then bent it to shape, then the bracing wire and soldered it together, popped the wheels on

Looking good, I think maybe a tad twitchy. the fin looks a bit small also, what do I know, I've never designed , built or flown one.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

A fin like that is not unusual in that type of model. The "Barn Door Rudder" does most of the work the fin normally does.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

Not a productive day, done a few little bit on the frame and hinged the ailerons, then cut 2 horns from carbon fibre for the ailerons

inserted a guide tube for 1 of the elevator pull pull wires

And sorting out where to put the Rx though not a lot of choice

Then tonight my darling daughter in law came into my room must have been 11pm Richard was in bed and she whispered Freddy HER cat was on the landing playing with a RAT
It was a smallish one and it was dead by the time the hero of the hour got there, now two things in life i really really hate are snakes and rats, they make my skin crawl
But being the man of the hour one has to do ones duty   so its in the dustbin

i have never been a cat person im a dog lover in fact i prefer them to humans, i find cats are very self centred a bit like women, where as a dog will always show their love and affection towards you unconditionally, and that Freddy cat is always in my chair and refuses to move without getting his claws out
Bit of a mistake with the control horns, they are for the elevators and the fin which have pull pull wires the ones for the ailerons need to sweep forward over the joint of the wing and ailerons

You're not going to like Optel then! The 3 dogs will be all over you like a rash!
I do like those pins, I looked on Balsa Cabin but they're out of stock.

Do it now, you may never get another chance
