It reminds me of the time I worked in what previously had been the head office block of Leyland Bus & Truck in......er....Leyland.
It had a huge foyer with a big walkway 'bridge' across the back of it for staff to access the first floor offices. I was puzzled at a clearly removable section. Why?

The reason of course was that it was also a show room and Leyland made double deck buses!

Enough reminiscing - what is this?

Why is it in a lake?

It's a 'new' trial version of an aquabatic mini-sub, a later version was mounted in/on Seaview!
