It caught my eye because it was a jet powered crop sprayer with a 125mph top speed. Just about the worst application for a jet (although it was a turbofan) you could think of but apparently that was the directive from communist central office!
The plan was to be build 3000 but it was not very successful and after 125 sense prevailed.
How about this?
The control system was interesting.

Not a car plane either.
Just pre WWII and about 20 were built, one was even used by KLM!

Unusual in that it was is was a full size 'bank and yank', there were no rudder pedals. The control wheel also steered the front wheel so on the ground it drove like a car.
The Erco Ercoupe was designed for the same competition and it also had no rudder pedals and was much more successful being produced in considerable numbers after the war such that the CAA had to create a special 'no rudder' licence for anyone who learned to fly on it.

It isn't one of theirs. They closed in 1950 and I don't think such a big turbo prop would have been around at that time.
Yes the picture is confusing isn't it!
Actually its a Kamov Ka22 Vintokryl. Nato code name "Hoop".
(for some reason I cannot post or link to anything so you will have to Google it)
Eric was not so far out as it was a 'compound' helicopter like the Rotodyne thus more a competitor than an ancestor.
The main difference was the rotor drive was mechanically clutched in and out rather than the more elegant but noisy tip jets used in the Rotodyne.
4 built, two crashed.
