After three coats of primer filler sanded back between each coat i had it spot on, looked good, very pleased with the outcome,
I cleaned it up hoovered the bench ready to wipe the fuselage with acetone, casually stroking my hand down it
Bugger iv gone through the glass in three places on the tail section
Had to glass some more cloth on to it

Decided im building the wing in 3 sections, a centre that is also removable but will be left on the fuselage, it will have the retracts, the two inboard engines and the two inboard flaps, the outer panels will each have two engines, two flaps and a aileron, think ill leave the edfs out
Ill work all 6 flaps from one servo in the centre section bottom of the wing
I made up some outer tubes for the carbon wing joiners yesterday
Thats all i did as im still dying
And i was going to an American model train meeting in Crew on Sunday, well miffed at missing that
Been looking forward to it since i got here in September
My luck dont change

The fuselage plug is now ready to finish painting
And the wings are started
I also contacted 4max for their advice on an electric set up
He thinks my weight estimate is way off, he thinks 20 / 25 lbs and has based his proposed set up on this figure, never delt with them as i think they are expensive, dont know how to put his email on here
But his power set is EXPENSIVE

That's very impressive.
I presume the wing joint position means there will be 4 engines outboard of it.
Interesting that you have set the wing joint perpendicular to the airflow rather than aligned with the sweep of the wing.
Apart from the geometry involved I can't see it makes any difference.

110" in old money Crash i always tend to build heavy for some reason, so being leccy powered im trying to keep the weight down even though im going to glass it, the guy at 4max said my estimate of 16 lbs was way out, he thinks because of the size of it it will be nearer 25lbs, hope not ??:S

Have a look at this setup from 4max Simon and tel me what you think, apart from the cost :S

Motors PO 3541-1070 weight 127g
ESC 4M-ESC 40A 48g
Props MA 9X7 x 3 blo
MA 9x7 x 3 bls

Each motor will pull 24/25A and produce 3lbs of thrust, giving a top speed of 53 mph on 3s lipos

I presume the props were a typo, and you meant 3 blade?
But what is the other line? (or was that the props again - another typo?)
You might find that APC props are cheaper.
Who is the motor manufacturer (PO)
Who is the speedo manufacturer (4M)
Without a name, they can't be looked up for the spec's.

-
Don't forget you want FOUR speedo's, one for each motor - and 40 Amps is pushing them to their limit, I'd fit 60 amp or bigger.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
