No its strait and very strong on the long narrow fuselage even with only half of it built, its planked with 3mm balsa, but by the time its all sanded down it will be 11/2 mm
Launch will be by bungee or slope soring even aerotow, but that will not concern me as ill not be able to go flying with no transport

oh boy what a cold cold 24 hours have just passed and they are not coming from COVENTRY to fix it until tomorrow sometime, all the way from bloody Coventry, can you believe that, and they wonder why they have to put up charges and bills to pay for it, mindless morons, there has to be and engineer within 5 miles of here that could fix it
I used to service gas and oil fired boilers in another life, corgi registered and all that i dont trust myself to pick up a spanner now days
Got my diesel tonight and have been in the shed for a warm ( i might just go in there tonight and sleep on madams settee thats in there with the heater on, cold in bed last night

I see that the plan calls for building two half fuselages, including the planking, then butting them together for sanding. That would keep it all straight.
Not the way you are doing it?.

With those relatively long thin planks and with a bit of care and attention I would expect it is straight.
Planking as a half shell over the plan is no guarantee it will remain straight once it is lifted from the plan. If there are any warps it is by then too late to do anything about it. You just have to hope the other half will come out the same so when joined they cancel each other out!

Straight as an arrow

Only bent where it should be

On to the fin, i had to make some changes to the way it is built. l did not like the back end of the fuselage and the way the fin was mounted

And the rudder

covered the fin in proskin to give it a lot of strength as it carries the tail plane, i silver soldered an elevator horn up and fit it in the fin before the final skin went on

It is a very tall fin and rudder

That looks like an all-moving tailplane - and I can see an error. You've put the pivot in, but where's the other wire that moves in the curved slot to actually move the tailplane?

I don't see a problem there Eric, the snake has a clevis which attaches to the arm that's soldered to the elevator mounting rod, the trick is going to be securing the elevators to the rod.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Not quite sure of the chord of the ASW17 tail plane but if it is all moving it is conventional and maybe essential for it to pivot around its likely centre of pressure to avoid putting a considerable load on the control linkage. That pivot rod looks to be well aft of the likely centre of pressure of the tail plane.
This is a picture of the parts of the all moving tail plane on a Slingsby Dart.

Note
a) The size of the pivot rod. It actually a substantial diameter tube!
b) How far forward its pivot point is compared to the root chord of the tail plane.
Just saying.
ps That moveable surface on the tailplane is not the elevator it is a big adjustable trim tab.

The pivot wire runs through the centre of the internal bellcrank as shown. That is also normally at about 1/3 chord of the tailplane. There should be another wire that goes through the angled other end of the bellcrank to the control rod. THAT wire is the one that drives the t/p to control pitch.

If I could get my damn computer to talk to the printer, I could sketch it, but a couple of Windoze updates ago it went crazy, and will only print or copy blank pieces of paper or screens! It would probably be easier to buy yet another printer!
Whatever happened to plug-n-play?

Found a work-around - Draw it - photograph it - download it to the pc - transfer it - and post it! (if it works!)

What I was trying to explain about BB's all-moving tailplane lacking a drive rod -

Not been well with the weather causing me problems with my knackard body, but done a little more

The tail planes slide on to the fin for ease of transport
Time to leave this one behind and concentrate on the box and whats going in it, times a racing by

That is a spectacular fuselage but just ahead of the fin it looks ever so thin.
It will break exactly there if you get into any sort of significant ground loop - just like the full size one I saw a few years back!
