I was undecided what drastic to build next. I ordered a Bixler from HobbyKing to fly in my local (large) park early mornings and have nearly finished installing the radio, just waiting for two small MG servos to arrive.. The choice was another Tank, A Ferrari F1 or Honda F1 cars, a Me163 or Renault Alpine all of which I already have in boxes.
But my mind was made up when I found a kit at my local car boot sale in a very battered box. I don't really have much interest in jet airliners but this one is interesting. It is 1/144 scale, half a metre span and has lots of wheels and lots of windows............and cost me £5.

It is a Revell Airbus A380 and I haven't a clue as to where to display it..................yet.

l also found a bargain at the same car boot sale. A vintage camera accessory for a Leica camera in a box marked E. Leitz, the seller didn't know what it was. I did. Charged me 50p.
Last year I bought a kit of a Sitar Special glider there for £5.

I have just had BT Sport installed, as I actually want to watch Premiership Football on my days off  !!!!!!

This involves a faster internet connection, which is/seems to be working on this site, so will try posting a photo of the latest effort, hopefully this will work.

Harry - use the img code, from photobucket - that puts the pic onto the page, rather than a link to the pic.

Sold the Leica accessory for £50! On the strength of that..................

Went to my local, shortly to be closed Modelzone shop, found the staff to still be friendly and helpful. Bought a Revell Spitfire Mk 16 kit and a AFV Club T34 (Russian)Tank 1/35 kit with full interior detail, controls, engine, transmission, for 30% off. Plus most of the paints to complete. Not operating real model planes I know, but the Tank should keep me quiet for most of the Winter, after I have completed the Airbus.

With my record of posting photos incorrectly, that could be a disaster!

Indeed it would be an interesting blog.
The interior of a tank can be a real nightmare to paint, usually only one basic colour but lots and lots detail and then there are the 'wear' marks from all that scrabbling about inside a small space. ;)

Thanks, I already have a good book about the T-34 bought from a charity shop, which prompted the build. The Russians built 84,000 of them, so it was a very important weapon!
The part I am really looking forward to is doing a good job in the engine compartment, the engine covers will be left open to show the works. None of the tanks I have built so far have had anything inside except air, gun breech, basic bits in the turret, no bulkheads, nothing.
Purists hate this, but if it doesn't show from the outside I don't usually build it or paint it.
Also I don't like painting 1/35 human figures so the hatches on tanks usually get 'welded!'. Will make an exception in this case.
I will be purchasing extra bits such as better tracks and PE (- photo etch metal parts such as replacement mudguards, tools, brackets etc.)

I recently found a book called 'Tank Twins' in which Stephen Dyson relates the story of his war in a Churchill tank through Normandy after D -Day. His brother was with him part of the way. Very good book.
One of their unit took a piano from a French cafe (and a pig and 14 chickens from a farm) for a party and loaded it on their tank. I tried to recreate the piano (and wine bottles) event. I am going to re-create the front of the cafe later, but a street corner will have to do for now, need some more cobbles!
(Might try to find a realistic 1/35 scale pig later!)
