Eric is correct, I had the same problem with the nose wheel on my Concorde. You have to adjust the mounting point that moves the most of the damper. The way i did it was to literally move the retracts up and down adjusting the mounting point each time with small amount, when it works, mark it and fix in position. the other retract will take half the time
It`s trial and error mate, sorry
You could do it the correct way and that is to calculate all angles and movements of all surfaces and work it out that way.
Me and you both know trial and error is the way to go, lol

I have actually sorted it, got it to work ok, just having to add another ram to each leg to hold the leg straight when it retracts.
With having the joint where the leg pivots it tends to fold when closing
Had to cut a ram in two to get the spring in
Got the new gear doors cast

On your test rig you had the suspension leg positioned so it was almost vertical when the U/C was extended. From the pictures I would guess the spring unit would be working at 1:2 disadvantage - the spring would see twice the wheel load.
Now mounted in the fuselage the top of the suspension leg is much closer to the pivot axis so will be working at bigger disadvantage maybe as much 1:4. At this ratio Is the spring (it does look rather small) adequate for the planes likely weight?

Hi Simon the spring you see in the latest pictures is just for keeping the leg straight when it is retracting because as it retracts it looses the pressure of the main springs, here are two of these 1/2" in diameter each 1" long in the main piston, the two main springs are very strong so I think they will be ok
Time will tell of course
Thanks for asking and keeping me in the right direction as it is all just coming from the top of my head
Thanks: Eric, Quorneng

Cut the fins off the wing tanks without to much damage, they came in two pieces and sat on the surface of the tanks, very delicate and I could see them getting knocked of so I have cut them into four separate parts and if slotted the tanks so that will make a better job ,

Again pics in the wrong order

This will definately be going into storage for the time being,
And then presumably will be given away
No one wants it
