Polyphilla wrote: Welcome Richard, I'm just about to have a crack at flying Heli's as well, mainly because I want something I can play with during the winter months without having to travel miles to a flying site.
I've got a flybarless electric model on the bench now, I'm fitting some new metal geared servo's and I'll hopefully be ready to go.
Let's hope we can compare results soon. [badass]

Which Heli & which Flybarless controller are you using Pol?
I am finding it takes practice, practice & more practice....& some structured practice on the simulator to crack this heli lark! :P

Hi Guys
I came across this website through Aeromodeller and Andy Sephton's latest plan which had a link to the site in the build article. Looks like a nice forum so I thought I'd sign up. My interest is pretty much in the Free Flight sport and 'a bit of scale' area, but I do fly slope and DLG RC as well.

I started a build log on my latest project as way of introduction until Boz pointed out there is a dedicated intro's section

Chris

Oh, go on then, should have taken the user name 'reticent'. Mainly interested in free flight atm but enjoy most things (except helis, sorry) and, practically speaking, it has to have radio for regular flying. I used to organise an indoor flying meeting at Alfreton Leisure Centre (East Midlands) but that's somewhat shocky heavy now and I hope to break out a freeflight/ultra-light R/C session in the near future, time-permitting to organise it. Most building gets done the morning before I need to take it flying (aka running repairs - another good moniker). It might have been me who wrote the Gildings piece in AM a month or two ago. That's all folks.
Thanks: Phil Wood, Klipkopwildlife, Quorneng, blue123, boz

Thanks for that Nigel. A free flight man eh? You are with good company on here.
Welcome to the site from myself and the rest of the admin team. Have a look in Live chat sometime.

And from me, although free-flight is not my 'thing'.
