Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

You know what Mike, you are correct. Time, lots of it, I am afraid is the only answer. Keep as active as possible and the emotional fairground "Waltzer" slows down eventually.
Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

Stay strong mike, all these memories that make you sad just now, will become happy memories that will make you smile, but as others have said, "it will take time".

The older I get, the better I was!

Thanks, guys. Spent this morning sorting out my office. I always used to have my 15" laptop in the kitchen, because when indoors Veronica would be either in the kitchen or the fireroom (only 10 feet or so from the kitchen, so to go off to the office to use the computer, sometimes for quite lengthy periods, would have been pretty anti-social ( and boring!). Now, however, I've moved the computer back into the office (long ago when I used a desktop it had to be in the office - one of the reasons I replaced it with the first laptop).
Kept me busy for three or four hours. Then, this afternoon I am replacing the BT Hub4 - which has started playing up - with the new BT router which has just arrived. It's a change to need to do something, as opposed to needing to think of something!

Just about finished setting up the new router - and so far it actually seems to have gone smoothly - NOT what I normally achieve. Swapping anything vaguely computer orientated normally involves three days of frustration and foul language!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

I've just got back from sending another friend off on his final journey.
His wife had chosen a little poem I don't know, which was entirely suitable -
"fond farewell"
Miss me - but let me go.
when I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me,
I want no tears in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared, miss me but let me go.
For this is journey that we all must take, and each must go alone,
It's all part of the master plan, a step on the road to home.

Damn Eric, that made the back of my eyes prickle! But lovely, I'll store that away for future use.
