As I have said before, to other people (details irrelevant here) - look after yourself first, or you won't be fit to look after others.

Even spoke to Mike & all he's thinking about is this place! .... this is a grown genius with a wife & two young kids that need their share of attention.
I didn't miss live chat last night & I told everyone that they could just hammer the cafe if they wanted to.
I did another all nighter & guess what.... the forum didn't fall to bits.
Mike tells me allsorts of technical stuff... like.... our live chat creates between 3 -5 million hits per month on the server... partly because it refreshes every 3 seconds.
We've got umpteen thousand views per month because we've got loads of outsiders just giving us the once over.
We've come to the point where we have to make some choices & this may be a financial burden .... can we afford a dedicated server? ..... even then, we'd be relying on Mike to completely write a blank page with all the required security & protocols.... I don't think I could put those demands on his time.
I don't know how things are going to pan out, but I do know that I'm not going to hurt my son just for my benefit .... I'll find the button & turn the whole damn thing off first.

Really appreciate the hard work you're putting in Mike, Don't over do it though for us bunch of silly old sods.
I will sort out a donation to.

Dean, unless I've missed something, Mike did say NOT to send donations just yet, until he decides whether we can afford a private server.

p.s. page loading is dead slow again tonight, but that could just be the usual swamped broadband, not the server we're presently using.

Ok, So live chat has been disabled almost 2 days.
I am about to enable it again.

How has the website performed with that switched off?

Mike, I haven't noticed any glitches at all. Have my web host people contacted you yet?

for me no issue here mike tried chat on here still got german on bottom, went to other site tried chat got no german it worked

Tried almost every task I normally do, had too much sleep the last 24 hrs And cant fault the place Mike.

As usual a superb job, but knowing you as I do I wouldnt expect anything less, seriously. Thanks mate

As for dedicated server, I think that might be a bit OTT (unless you plan to rent out a bit of space to help pay for it)
What you really need is a reliable host.
Are you still with hostgator?
Me and the missus (and a couple of friends) use Krystal, been with them for almost 6 years.
Well worth considering... And they are totally UK based.

AND I have to echo what the others have said... Take your time, family must always come first.
