Nice one Tony, looking good! :) Interesting choice of colour scheme, looks good! Looks like it won't be long before it's racing about in the sky... knife edge here, prop hang there....

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo
The wing is covered now.
starting to get the hang of solar tex.

The cowl needs to come off for a second coat of paint and the esc fitting.

The underside of the wing getting some stripes.

Then it's battery tray and fit the ailerons. :cheer:

well today i started making the battery box .
also fitted the hinges into the ailerons, pinned them as well to be safe.

tomorrow i can fit the ailerons to the wing and connect everything up.
then fit the battery tray and see about c of g.
that will be it then, unless i do any writing on the fuse and wings.

Well houston we have a problem.

pinned the aileron hinges, fitted the control horns, made up the connecting rods.
ailerons work ok.

put a battery in the nose, put the wings on, measured the c of g and marked it on the fuselage.
picked up the plane and put it on the balance points.
tail heavy.
no probs , lets add some weight.
2.5lbs    later it was balancing.
ouch a bit much me thinks.
takes it to just over 11lbs which means i cant fly it at my club without a "B" cert.

so it is a hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm moment.

now there are 2 full size servos in the tail for the elevators, sooooooooooooooooo if i move them up the front and put them on the c of g point, then run 2 snakes down to work the eleavtors.
i should save a bit of nose weight.
still going to be a very heavy plane, not sure if i will be able to fly it.

I knew they built heavy, but thats daft, flog it, feel for you Tony, its too small to put HUGE motors in, could you do a built up tail? section the tail into ribs, to be honest, its not worth the hassle, ebay it, there are others out there you can use the money on,

For starters you could move those tail servos up to the sharp end!

Do it now, you may never get another chance

i have thought of that, but that was how it was designed.
the 25cc engine would weigh 2.5lbs over the 1.5lbs of electric motor and battery.
i am going to take the elevator servos out tomorrow and just drop them in the fuse in front of the c of g mark and then see how much weight is needed in the nose.
if it is still tons, i will strip all the electrics out, assemble it all and put it on ebay.
get some money out of it.

shame though.

need to weigh the sea fury and see if the motor i have will be powerful enough.
