So I've gone and bought a new in box Evo 35GT at a fraction of it's original rrp, this being essentially a rebadged MVVS 35. It comes with a 10mm(?) plug with matching spanner, a 4.8v ignition module and no silencer. So - how to keep the noise down without breaking the bank - HK manifolds and cans...

the Altair fuselage is 78" long, the Tbird instructions reckon it ends up 86", and that extra 8" makes it a close fit. Especially as I always load at least three models for a day out. And yes Owen, that is with the rear seats down :silly:

Somehow I seem to have found myself with two new fun-flies added to the fleet. First off is a Weston UK Cougar 2000 fitted with a new ASP36A, second is a used Panic (foam wing version) to which I've strapped a new ASP52. Both have been designed with the engine mounted with the cylinder 45 degrees...

just to put a cap on this one, another couple of tankfulls and they're settling down a treat. Good throttle response and the little 36 in the Cougar wil accelerate it straight up even on a standard silencer. The mixture still needs a final tweak before it will run the tank dry but it's 100% better...

you know how it is, your idly browsing through ebay and an item catches your eye so you throw a bid in. That's what I did on a Panic, then forgot all about it. It seems I won, now I need to make a trip up to Webbs to pick up an antique Panic. I just hope some of the advertising will peel off ok....

£50 'best offer'. Most of the ones I've seen have had servos and motor fitted, and seem to go for 120-150, so I thought 50 a more than fair price - now I wonder if £40 would have done it. I picked it up today, what a nightmare on the M6! What should be a 90 minute trip took 3 1/2 hours. Anyway,...

I've found myself the recipient of a flown once Yak 52 from VQ, apparently the PO had issues with it - I didn't see as I was flying myself at the time, but I heard his landing! It's 60" span for a 46 2st or 70 4st, covered in that nasty self adhesive pre-printed vinyl but generally seems ok. It's...

Easy come, easy go. With the balance point moved forward the Yak took off and flew an absolute treat, fast and aerobatic. Landing, however, was an entirely different kettle of squid. First approach resulted in a flypast slightly below mach 2, so did attempts 2 and 3, each time progressively...
