Dug the retracts out today that were one the two jets that iv crashed, im going to make them fit the Hunter some how
I will cancel the order for the proper retracts as I just cannot bring myself to pay that sort of money when the plane cost me less than half that to build
They will not be scale but who cares they are just there to get it up and down
Hopefully
Just got to lengthen them by about 65mm and try and get the angles to work

After a lot of jiggling about I recon I have got it sorted

Just got to beef up the leg wire but they are at the correct angle and they tuck away in the wings when retracted

The nose leg I had to carve out all the original supports and formers to get it to retract fully
just going to sort the air lines and fittings then it will be job done with a large saving of money :) :)
Still having to order more bits for the turbine that was repaired, did not come with all that I expected
Just cost me another 127 euro today  :(
Still working in my outside workshop in shorts and sandals
And a sad day tomorrow as my favourite ginger tom that you see in the pics is going to be put down
Hes very ill, going to miss him

Nice job on the retracts So sorry about your old pal the ginger tom . Our. old girl Umbra ( JET BLACK ) was 27 today Fit as a flea except for a bit of gingivitis which makes her moan a bit after eating . Meds don't work but they won't operate as she is so old . Lovely old girl dead soppy.

Hi BB,

Condolances on your Tom.....it's not a good thing when best mates have to be put down. I'm dreading it with our favourite Bully, Hagrid, but it'll have to happen one day........... :( :( !

Well he was not my tom, he was already there when I arrived, but he adopted me, I have always been a dog man
had a dog virtually all my life until I moved to Cyprus the ones we have now are nats
But I think he was a British cat and some one had thrown him, maybe when they went back to the UK so he took to the only British voice he heard,
He was a lovely old boy, even though he did claw the top of the A10 sharpening his claws one day
RIP Ginger

Well I have had a new Ginger cat turn up today and make himself at home with me, uncanny
Started to fill in the front end where I had ripped it open

Planked it sanded it down and gave it a coat of fibre cloth and resin

Filling in the wheel wells

And trying to make some doors to fit, this is the plug to make a mould from, then ill do them in glass fibre

Having to put a curve on them

I covered the nose wheel area where I want to cast the fibre glass doors with brown packing tape, instead of polish and mould release

Then glassed straight on top of it to make the mould

And the same for the main gear door

And it worked a treat, just popped off, surprised and pleased

I cast the nose wheel door with 6 layers off cloth and one layer of carbon cloth to give it extra strength, don't realy know what im doing as I have never used it before,

Like most things I do in modelling now days is all a learning curve
Had some more dam resin that has not gone off, its still tacky after a couple of days, on the single layer I put on the nose door planking, had to scrape it all off, what a bloody game.
Done it again using polyester resin this time instead of epoxy :S

Cast some main gear doors, pleased with the way they came out, nice and thin and flexible so they will sit snug against the wing, well that's the theory anyway :S

And the nose leg door came out ok as well, very rigid with the carbon inlay

Spent the day sorting a very small space for a workshop, a place for everything and everything in its place

And I don't want to see any dust, Owen ;)
