The Cyprus LANCASTER

Had three hours this afternoon sanding down the resin on the wings and put another coat of resin on the nacils i covered in Poly C and tissue
The poly c and tissue covered in resin did not work out so ill do what was suggested with the awful stuff and paint the fence with it.

I have given the wings a coat of primer so today i rubbed it down with fine wet & dry


Then i fitted the ailerons / servo's and covers for the tank bays and gave it a rub down with alcahol and kitchen towel paper, the surface is now ready for the panel lines to be added, still cannot make my mind up about doing rivets ?



I now have to fit my home made landing gear and retracts

110,000 rivets on each wing i believe.

looking very good though, i hope my one turns out half as good.

im getting fed up with it again think ill do one of my artf at the weekend

it is an impressive bird isn't it.
mine is stalled at the moment as well as easier builds keep popping up.

Take your time with it because it has to look right when finished.

When i started the Lancaster i made two extra copys of the plans and as Tony knows they are big plans, well mine disapeared without trace never to be seen again,
I bought thirteen tins of Humbrol paint months ago to paint the Lancaster and they also disapeared without trace
I ordered another thirteen tins and they came today , im putting them under lock and key, something in this house dont want me to build the Lanc. Strange

The wings are ready for painting the rest has a lot of work to do on it, but IF I DONT HAVE ANYMORE crashes for any reason and with the winter coming i hope to get back on it again, but for me it's one of those builds that you tend to do a bit and leave for a while so no rush it will fly when it's ready
Talking of winter it's just started to rain again if we get much rain today we cannot use the salt lake at the weekend the top 3/4 mm get's very wet and slippery.
I need to find somwhere else for the winter wet times, the temp. is still in the 24deg region though

I found the thirteen tins of paint i bought for the Lancaster tonight that went missing without trace, so that means i can get it finnished now,
