Those Cypriot gods do not like you, BB! That;s tough luck! I can't even say strap it to the bench, because then the bench would fall over!

There is a thread on RCMand E where a guy was losing signal in one area and he was flying about 3/4 mile from any building. He found he had wifi clear and strong on his phone. He walked round the field watching the wifi signal. He found a cottage with a booster box outside on the wall,He found this was to boost the signal to a boat and is good for 50 kms.He lost signal when he flew through the beam this booster makes.Have I found the answer to your problems because the beam swamps 2.4

Was the booster a directional beam or omnidirectional?

Apparently it is bi directional. This is the one that is linked to in the other forum's thread.

Somebody called me 'pretentious' the other day.

I nearly choked on my latte.

I can see what it is now, bidirectional means it transmits and receives to and from a duplex device (mobile phone).
So don't fly in the airspace between the booster and receiver. :)

Yes, that's a beam antenna. It will work a bit like a torch reflector, pointing all the power in one direction, and picks up in the same way.
Jodrell Bank is a 'slightly' larger version!

I'm going to built one of these at some point. Always wanted one. What are you doing for retracts and legs?

You seem impressed by these HK retract units. Will they cope with a model that big?
