Thanks for all the advice chaps!
With the GP/NHS in the state it is it looks like I will get better before I even get to see the doc - but then that of course is the most 'efficient' solution! :woohoo

I am not knocking the NHS. It certainly worked for me to fully recover from a serious blood disorder, however in hind sight there were a number of "coincidences" along the way that just happened to fall into place not least by paying for a private hospital consultation. When I queried the doctor (he was also the local NHS hospital registrar) if he knew what was wrong he made the diagnosis "I can tell you are not well!" but I was in a bed at the NHS hospital within 3 hours!

Then it just so happened that an internationally recognised expert in what is a very rare disorder (12 cases per year in the UK) also happened to be a consultant surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary less than 20 miles away.

It could have all been so different.

Very rare blood disorder? - Not enough alcohol in it?
I've never mentioned it before - no need on here - but many years ago I contracted a weirdy disease, whilst out in the Far East. Symptoms like malaria, but it wasn't! As far as I know, it was never identified, but I was told not to give blood (for transfusions), as it might be passed on!
It hasn't flared up for several years, now, but when it does, I get the cold sweats, go dizzy, get the 'shakes', and feel like a deflated balloon for a few days after.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

My particular disorder is called Granulomatosis with polyangiitis - GPA.
It used to be known as Wegener's diagnosis as he formally identified the symptoms in the 1930s but apparently his medical role in Nazi Germany during the war is now considered "questionable"!.
I have some very delicate paint lining to do on the nacelles along with some fine soldering, neither activity particularly compatible with coughing but everything is improving by the day.

Could be worse, you could have diarrhoea as well, now that is incompatible with coughing, don't ask how I know that.

That's not good Simon! Eric, I have something similar from time to time, It's been diagnosed as recurrent Dengi fever. It's transmitted by mosquitoes.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

My cough has subsided enough to attempt to paint the inlets to the nacelles.

That just leaves the elevator and rudder servo plugs to be soldered on and the cockpit 'stick on' windows!

Forced myself to complete the last of the soldering so it is now virtually ready to go.

All the controls work in the correct sense and I think the stab functions are all correct as well but it is not so easy to jerk a big light plane enough to be absolutely sure of the gyro moves the surface in opposition. :P :P

Maiden will have to wait for ideal conditions - and the grass to be cut!

great job, very interesting watching it come together, and your problem solving skills. Is that the only colour on the tail? Or are you adding more after the maiden? I don't see an airline name. Hope the maiden goes well, boz. :)

Like most of my designs the scale part is in the aerodynamics - the finish is just 'in the style' of an original. There is no attempt at scale 'detail'.
I have followed the major colours of Thai Airlines but there is quite a bit of lettering as well.

And all those doors and windows! :P

Today was about as perfect weather as is likely this time of year but disaster! the 1000 mAh 4s refused to charge with a "connection break" message.
A bigger 4S charged no problem so the fault is not with the charger.
The baffling bit is the voltages on each balance lead are correct. This only leaves that one or more of the sockets in the balance plug is not making proper contact with its pin.
A replacement 4s balance lead (x10!) is on order but of course it has to come from China.
A single UK sourced 4s balance lead costs twice as much!
Thanks: boz

Eric gave me an 808 camera and today was passably calm, although the field was very squelchy under foot, but at long last I have a video of the A350 on flight. :P :P

Although the wind was very light its direction meant it was surprisingly 'bumpy' under the tree line. The stab kept things under control but it did not feel comfortable for a true low pass for the camera.
As can be seen it glides surprisingly well in fact the whole approach was power off. I held off for just a fraction too long and the right wing dropped (it always does) making the landing a bit untidy. No damage but I suspect if repeated too often something (an nacelle?) will give way.
