A control line stunter

I ordered a plan for a control line stunter before Christmas and with my luck it never turned up, so i got onto the guy and he eventually agreed to send another, It turned up on Friday, along with the first one he sent in the same post
So i placed an order with Balsa Cabin for all the balsa wood to complete the build
They rang me today to tell me that they did not have any of my order in stock and that they had a container coming in February but there was nothing i had ordered in it either 
First time i have not used Slec for my balsa supply, are these people a joke or what, also wanted some of there pins as they are very good, but they are out of stock 
They want me to change my order to medium density balsa as they have that,  well most of it
And even asked can we take your payment now please,
Had a job keeping my conversation polite at this point

Unfortunately the makers of wind turbine blades both use and can pay far more for balsa than aero modellers so that's where it all goes.   

Just looked on the Slec site and its saying all their sheet balsa is hard density, it must be bad,
Maybe ill forget the idea

Yup, not our GB suppliers fault. Balsa is very "hard" to get worldwide. I expect another fifteen/twenty years before the supply gets better.

Ill have to go and nick a blade off one of the turbines, there must be a huge amount of balsa in one of those

I have just had an email from slec saying she is sat there looking at a new container of balsa wood just come in this morning but there are no 48" 1200 mm  lengths on it
Seems now days you can only get 36" lengths
Think ill stay away from the hobby

Hi Rich, i have 2 plans that i was going to build, the first one is a plan by a stunt flyer i used to fly comps against in the 1960s Jim Mannal its called the Nimrod i never saw him fly it so must have been designed after i gave up aeromodelling soon after both Jim and i qualified for the British team for the world championships in Hungary
The second one is one i used to fly and one that Jim flew the day we got into the team The Mercury Crusader, its a lovely stunter
I have an OS 40 Max to go in them at the moment, i put a bid in for a Merco 35 on Ebay last week but missed out by a pound in getting it`
But now im having second thoughts about the whole thing just the wood will cost over £130 just for the Nimrod and thats not getting what i wanted

 i have ordered the balsa wood for the build  from Balsa Cabin now i have to find some pins, i thought i had a full box of them but i must have put them in Klippies box of things i sent him
Dont like the T shaped ones as they are to thick and the normal one with the round heads the heads break of and the pin ends up half an inch in your finger

Hmmmm i ordered my balsa from balsa cabin becaused they said they had the 36" sizes i needed in the light wood, just got a reply from them today saying their container was late being delivered because of bad weather ????? and they would soon start cutting the sizes that i needed, but this is a long procese and would take a while to complete

I would not say im getting back into aeromodelling again because the same issues that caused me to pack it up are still there ( all the rules and regulations )
The trains iv lost all interest because of the N scale, and iv not been doing anything for nearly a year, owing to which iv been able to save quit a bit of money that i have been handing down to my family both to my term ill son and on building here, but i need something to do in my spare time as all im doing is laying on my bed sleeping and im feeling the effects of it
I recon i can find a bit of grass or hard standing somewhere and fly C/L without all the bullshit

Finally got my balsa order so i will start the build next week when i get down to Northamptonshire at my other sons 
When i ordered it the invoice was for 1200 long balsa i have had to accept 900 as they nor Slec have any 1200
But the invoice is the same amount
