I made a start on the Nimrod today, cut the ply templstes out for the wing and the ply fuselage formers
then cut all the 28 wing ribs with the sandwich method
Bit cold cutting outside

Slowly getting there, got a bit of carving to do

Been outside in the freezing colddoing more sanding
its coming out very nose heavy at the moment, and i wanted it to come out at about 51 ounces but it looks link ill be putting a church roof in the tail and i left my lead up north

I got some epoxy resin delivered this morning Thats the first money iv spent on hobbies for a long time,
and i still felt guilty
)
So i have just been in the shed and partly glassed the c/line models fuselage as im going to paint it, cannot seem to get on to well with the film
If i do another it will be old style nylon dope and paint
No pics im afaid cannot get them to load

Some pics of the stunter, i cut the glass 1 oz glass cloth
Then applied epoxy resin with a brush then laid the cloth onto the fuselage then worked the cloth into the resin with my credit card
and at the same time scraped all excess resin off
Left it to go off and harden for a couple of days the sanded it back as close the the cloth as i dare, then gave it a light spray of paint and sanded it down, this will form the warning to stop sanding after iv given it a coat of primer filler and sanded that off

Dont think you are meat to fibre glass stunt models because of the weight but i did because i did not get onto well with the film covering and glassing the fuselage hides all my cockups
Talking of weight i weighed the model before i glassed it and was pleasantly surprised that it came out at 43oz and that was with the engine and silencer fitted and 2 chunks of lead in the rear from when i balanced it, the lead is loose so i will re balance it when finished, weight is king in a stunt model
