Cloudy, overcast and spotting with rain today but I'm going to put the Bucker batteries on charge, maybe we'll get a gap in the weather.

Launched too slowly and pointing down! And the wings were rather droopy!

An absolutely beautiful model to look at. And what a wing span!
And the model was out-of-camera after its connection with the ground but Mary's exclamation is I hope not indicative of the number of separate bits. After a few cups of tea or something stronger perhaps a debrief?

Unless a plane has a better than 1:1 thrust to weight there is nothing wrong with a slight nose down slow launch at least what thrust it has will go towards making it go faster. Nose up it will struggle to even maintain the slow launch speed.
Got any suitable mound/hill?. At least then the ground falls away as you launch giving it more time to speed up.

Sadly, it was pointing Down when launched, as has been mentioned. Flat or slightly nose up would have made a difference. The "run" part actually made it worse as is often the case, as it reduced the ability to push it at the correct angle.

Us old folk cant run worth a damn anyway, we're more likely to trip over our own feet.

My chosen method is - assuming a left-hand chuck - get balanced up (self and model) with the left foot slightly behind, step forward with the right, push off and step forward with the left, and put the body weight and momentum into the left-hand launch.
The twist from the waist/hip, and the left foot forward, avoids a face-plant - while the power comes from the right leg.
