well today i have been mainly joining the 2 wing halves together.
each brace was made up of 3 lamination's of balsa and ply then glued in place.
then the 4 dihedral braces were cut and glued in.
after that i had to cut the bottom off of the fuselage and mount the wing in place, using the lower fuselage formers as mounts.
then you have the fun job of getting it all to line up before glue hits wood.
still we have got this far now.

wing gluing in place in the removable lower fuselage section.


the original design had the wing fixed in place, but i have had to try and work out how to make it removable.

we can plank round the wing next to lock it all together.

started on the planking round the wing.

this whole section comes out attached to the wing.
it will be held on with 4 wing bolts.

i am a right planker for building this.

need to start thinking about motors.

plane weighs 2lb at the mo, so i suggest we double it and add a pound.
so a 5lb flying weight will need at 80watts a lb about 400watts of power.
so 4 100watt motors would be minimum.
4 x 150 watt should be enough.

might be overkill though.

What size props would be scale ?
You need to get a motor a high enough Kv to spin whatever props, at the best power revs, with
the preferred lipo.
That 900kv motor is going to need a bit prop to get the watts out
You have a amp/watt meter?

well i need to sort out a watt meter still (so much to buy, so little money)

3 days later i am finally back to doing some building.

trying to finish the planking round the main wing and hopefully sheet the top of the wing.
then i can mark out the ailerons and cut them out.
this is providing i have enough 1/16 balsa left to do the wing sheeting, otherwise i will carve the nose and finish the cockpit window and roof area. not having see through windows, will just paint them black.

cockpit windows have been sheeted and need sanding.
main wing partially sheeted.
wing mounts boxed in.
out of wood now, so the build will have to go on hold till i can afford some more.

best dig out the Lanc then.

well i have done a little bit more to the fuselage.

nose cone carved and cockpit windows and roof shaped.

its the ugly one.

Very nice but those wings look ever so small!

going to be interesting isn't it.

how about one as a slope soarer.

will need some decals for this one later, once i have decided on what livery and black squares for the windows.
