I am not going near the rat full stop, they and snakes make me squirm just thinking about them 
Ok John i will try the solution on the bucker but it is a mess
Simon it is the hing itself that will not allow the door to open, with a pencil line gap between door and airframe, as soon as you try to open the door it hit the air frame
I will load a picture when i come back from flying

I got the nose cone glassed
And the hinge i was going to use on the gear doors
I scraped the gear door i fit, will make another, the joint between doors was in the wrong place

Glassed the thrust nozzel today
Made new retract doors, i had the joint between the doors in the wrong place, the front door needs to be the longer of the two as it will close after the retracts are down
Made up some long hinges for the doors, removed the pin and replaced with piano wire
Hysoled them to the doors

Got the first set of doors hinged and fitted, i have glued a piece of 3mm depron to the inside of the doors then covered it with fibre glass to make the doors even more rigid
Been looking at how to work one door from the gear but cannot for the life of me see how it can be done
Got the fibre glass top of the fin on
Thats all i have done
Still not caught one of my friends in the roof

Hysoled two brass tubes in the top of the fin as guides for the 6mm bolts that hold the tail plane on
Must say i have been a little concerned about the structure around the area where the tail plane mounts to the fin, so i ripped of the sheeting and will somehow strengthen it
Got the other main gear doors fitted and depron stiffener resined on, i will glass over the depron tomorrow
Parcelled taped the area where the nose gear will be for the door mould
Another slow day

Made the opening bigger, put some more braising in then resin soaked carbon cloth
Then on top ply
Stood it on its wheels, well blocks of wood to get the length of the nose wheel and to see what clearance there was beneath it as they do sit low to the ground
It looks about right

I am sure it is a practical section for the speed involved but it most definitely not scale!

I don't fancy trying to sand a sheet of 1.5 mil balsa into that aerofoil for a 1/4 scale model!
