Some aircraft had the walkways shown by “footprints” painted on the wing. I may have some photos etc. If you need them. I shall be interested to see how you imitate the structure under the fabric covering.

as for the wings, i am hoping to glue some stringers on the outside of the sheeted wing prior to covering with tissue and silk.
with any luck this will then look a bit like the real thing.
i hope anyway.

OK - I have the Profile publication for starters and I wonder if it might be best if I scan the pictures etc. and send them to you via email to preserve the quality. As regards the "framework" from what I have seen on old aircraft it was fairly subtle so what might be easier and more effective would be to run lengths of thread of a suitable thickness along the lines of the framework which when dry you could and a little to give the impression of varying prominence.. However just an idea - try it on a peice of scrap sheet first and cover it with just tissue given how much silk can cost these days.

Yes boss! "young" ???? You are so kind. May be a day or two - hope that is OK.

You may have to go easy on making the 'geodetic' visible.
This picture of one under construction clearly shows that stringers were added to the rear fuselage to lift the fabric clear of the under lying structure.

I have a suspicion that the same sort of thing was done on the wing, at least as far as the spar,
None of the period photos I have found seem to show any trace of the geodetic structure on the wing fabric surface.

I am sure I have photos showing the structure through the fabric but yes it is not pronounced. The fabric was influenced by the weather and humidity etc. so it would depend on when and where pictures were taken. Certainly the Wellington showed its “bones”. I will see what I can find shortly.

Just ordered a little booklet on this aircraft, might give me some details.

finished the fuselage formers, could almost start building now. hmmmmmmmm

TSR2 has been scrapped.
Trent meteor is the next on to be finished after the Lancaster, even though i have no where to fly it as it is too big to be flown at my club.

Another day tomorrow i hope, then back to the rivets on the Lancaster.
