So I had to make a good job of the ply that holds the ally tube in the wings, go's in easy once the second rib hole is found
The problem as I see it holding the wings on is not the coming off , but holding them in place while assembling the model at the field, without six hands

A trial fit of the fuel and smoke tanks
Then I had to start thinking about how to do the wing centre section as I want to build it into the fuselage and also tie the fire wall into it and the undercarriage will anchor to it as well, so I had to draw up the main spars and cut from hard 6mm ply
Drew and cut the ribs and other bits, here dry fit together
Placed them on the model and marked where to saw
The whole unit glued in plce
Then drew up and cut the parts to anchor it to the sides and fire wall

Made a plug from blue foam then glassed it
Then sanded it down gave it a coat of paint and sanded it again then filled any holes
More sanding and filling and sanding, then three coats of paint
Tomorrow I will flatten it down and the polish it before giving it a coat of mould release
The one for the other side is a few stages behind
Offered it up to see what it looks like

Proving to be a costly engine, $250 to buy, 95 euros to repair after the first crash and 175 euros this time, it destroyed the silencer last time it hit the ground and this one was 140 euros but its so much better to fit in the cowl
Glassed the fairings
And they came out ok
So I built up a block to mount the engine
Built a 20" lathe to turn the blue foam cowl plug
And it worked  started to fill and sand it
And I have a new lady pilot, she's just having a fitting for the seat

Those engines just won't grow no matter how well you plant them. :silly: Best you give them plenty of air and sunlight.THE BLACKBIRD wrote: Got my DLE 55 rebuilt and with a new expensive wrap around silencer, it runs good again
