Got all seven blisters on the cowl plug now, so it's a case of fill and sand, fill and sand until it is good enough to do the mould

Just doing little jobs on the Buck, waiting for the never to arrive parcel from Toni Clark

It only took three days to get to Northampton

Done some more today

After I had been flying  first flight the foamy started to do its own thing for about fifteen seconds before it hit the ground  the tx had no input on it at all, just had to stand there and watch it do its own aerobatics, this is in the same area as all the other crashes I had before I switch to Futaba, BUT I had an orange receiver in it, but never had a problem with them before
Even had time to shout to the pits so they could see it happen
Defo radio interference as it all work after, the throttle never shut down and the fail safe is still working

The elevator horn was broken when I got to it and also the rudder sevo had stripped a gear, but I think that happened in the crash

I think you've lost way too many aircraft there Tony, isn't there somewhere else you can fly?

I have to agree with Garry and Klippy BB. However, do the other modellers who fly on the same site have similar problems? If not, then it maybe worthwhile looking at the differences between your radio set up and theirs??

Without reading back, and if I am wrong , no doubt BB will correct me, but I am under the impression that when all these problems started, BB was not the only casualty . I am sure he said that it was an area where others had had similar probs

As I remember it, Eric will know more, the sight is adjacent to an RAF base that has 'over the horizon radar'. The flyers are, I believe, in contact with the Station commander, and told when they can fly without interference. But there have been so many 'shoot downs' I think the radar gets switched on from time to time. (As the world greatest conspiracy theorist, I think deliberately by low lifes who want to ruin someones day!)

Do it now, you may never get another chance

A very good morning to everybody, see im still in a good mood, ( still no crying smiley ) can I put an order in for one :(
I have had trouble there ever since I joined the club and when I told them it was radar interference they laughed at me told me it was me,
Well since then I have lost a good few models and I will always put my hand up when its my fault
But the thing is I have witnessed other model doing there own thing in the same place with the pilots shaken if they got them down ok
Also tree or is it four jets have gone down there, one 3 seconds into its maiden flight 5000 euros
Another exactly the same model of aircraft on its second flight, another 5000 euros
My first jet also in the same spot totalled, total loss of control 3500 euros
And on the other side of the field another one, this one on Futaba, all the others were JR and Speky
There have been a lot of models gone in on that side of the field where I seem to have trouble
A Doctor who fly's every week came just after my crash on Saturday and when told what had happened his first words were over there pointing to the spot where it went in
So there is a problem but nobody seems to want to admit it
This is the first problem I have had since I changed from JR/SPEKY to Futaba, but then I was using a orange receiver, but I have had no bother with them before
And no there don't seem to be anywhere else to fly, not with the models I build

Fair comment BB. SO, it looks like you're stuck with the site and the interference. Two further questions/comments:

1. Would a frequency monitor help to identify when the interference was or wasn't apparent?

2. Has anyone considered a higher grade of RC equipment? Or maybe even contacting the manufacturers with the issue to see if they can advise?

Notwithstanding the above, I really do feel for you BB. I also admire your stoicism in not giving up....there's many who would have thrown in the towel by now! ;) ;)

Klippy put - As I remember it, Eric will know more, the sight is adjacent to an RAF base that has 'over the horizon radar'.

All the 'experts' will tell you that as the radar is operating at a much lower frequency than our 2.4 Gig radio gear, it cannot possibly affect it.
In a perfect world, true - but we are using half a watt of radiated power, and they are using several thousands! It doesn't take an electronics genius to work out that that raw power will swamp our flea-power, at a lot longer range than line-of-sight - the resonant frequencies become irrelevant!
It's a bit like a used AAA battery trying to compete with a lightning bolt.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

I don't think anybody has anything to check with Andy, iv never seen or heard of anything
Been bumbling about today as without the package from Toni Clark im a bit stuck
So I made a start on the tail plane and fin, was thinking of doing them in steel tube but its in Northampton, so went under the bench found some 2mm light ply for the cores drew the outline

and added the top half

Same for the fin
