balsa is best.

If your using exhaust pressure to the tank then it shouldn't be a problem apart from needing a good spin with the starter to build up pressure, you could always squirt a little fuel in the carb before hand or arrange some sort of choke lever.
balsa is best.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Venturi access - it depends if you are planning on hand-starting, or using an electric bearing-masher!
Try a bit of copper tube, with a few bends in it, to see if you can prime the carby without drilling holes.
If you are using exhaust pressure to the tank, the electric whizzer would generate enough to blow some fuel through if you put a finger over the exhaust outlet. (Mind your fingers!) Give it a whiz without firing the plug, first, then try it once the engine is a bit wet.

Great, thanks. That’s good to know as I was hoping to avoid cutting any more holes.
I do have a starter motor, but need to get a battery for it.
So far I’ve been hand starting the engine on the test stand, but I’ll use the starter from now on.

If it starts by hand readily then I'd continue, as Eric pointed out electric starters do put strain on the bearings, a squirt down the venturi followed by a few ( exhaust) choked turns, before you connect the plug! should see it going.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

If there is enough access for a "fuel bottle spout ". No Glow connected, open throttle, tilt model as required to raise intake, prime, close throttle. Well I am sure you can take it from there.

Went to the club field last weekend, and had the T180 checked over. It’s all good, but didn’t get any flying as the battery wasn’t charge. Doh!
Also had the Rising Star checked, and it’s now ready to go. So hoping to get some flying this weekend.
