Have you sorted the sheeting/glassing problem? Reading your posts it sounds to me you forgot to treat the wood with sanding sealer before using the PVA to stick the cloth down.

Welcome to the mad house Andy. I'm sure you'll be made very welcome & if you wish, there's an "Introduce yourself" thread here .... it's not compulsory. ;)

I did think the exclamation point and the obvious stupidity of describing the system as "basic" would make it clear I had my tongue firmly in my cheek. If not I apologise.

Funnily enough I saw a set of plans for this build- or something very similar, but decided messing around with 10/12s batteries would be too expensive for my only electric plane. The 4s in the Vulcan ended up being much more manageable with smaller escs and motors meaning they came in much cheaper (despite there being 4 of them :P )

The sanding sealer comment was meant to be helpful, and is an easy mistake to make in the excitement of glassing.

It's a lovely build.

Spent 6 hours today sanding the whole airframe, then applied two more coats of poly c
Ready to sand down again tomorrow, still looking to find paint like humbrol but no luck, you would not think it was hard to find black paint
Getting borring now

Just about ready to start painting now, when i find some decent paint,
although i might wait until i get the Lander fans as i dont think they will go in the hatches i made
for the other ones.
Might as well hang on, if there is some carving out to be done, fit the new fans and give it a run out on the flying field without taking off of course then paint it.

Could not resist it, had to start the painting this afternoon on the front section, a coat of grey primer, let it dry for a couple of hours rubbed it down with wet and dry and then another coat, ( nothing like grey primer to show up all the crap building ) i have found out today, i will rubb it down again tomorrow add panel lines and then another primer, that will also be a new experience im treading on new ground again, learning as i go.

Think ill have to put something on the underside to give me a clue, white stripes maybe.some had white on the top part of finns but i dont think that would be enough, not for my eye's anyway.
Jumping the gun a little, it has to fly first

This is one hell of an undertaking but I don't think anyone has yet asked you, ... as Garry repeatedly says to me,.... Can yoy fly?
I know it's probably a silly question but we often get people who are expert builders & couldn't fly a kite,....
Please tell us you know what you're doing BB :woohoo:

I was joking , i know its going to be a handfull, but that is what the hobby is all about, if you dont extend yourself you never improve, its like the build, a big learning curve.
I know if i get it wrong :(  so i had better get it right :) :)

I came across this, a Blackbird engine on test.

Just imagine trying to handle that in a model!

Had another riveting day yesterday so not much to show, but i put the top coat of black on some of the rivet detail ( cannot get it to come up on my camara ) but im very pleased with the outcome.
Only thing that mared the day was the wind got up and blew the front section of the table. it landed on a corner of the finnished fuse where it joins the rear section and smashed the corner off, also snaped of the spike on the nose.
