I would endorse what The Beard said.
Run on 6S and see what current it is drawing. It should be no more than 40A at full chat so it will be well within everything.
If it all works ok and nothing seems to be getting hot then go to 10 but leave the Watt meter in line and keep an eye on the current.
At 10s or above do not run at full power for any length of time (15 seconds?) until you are absolutely sure everything (motor, ESC, test stand, you!) can stand it. In flight I doubt you will use full power for very long anyway or it will be out of range (both radio and visual!)

For someone who said they were "a bit new to leccy" you didn't half choose to go in at the deep end. Makes my efforts look ever so puney!

Not only new to leccy but i have been away from aeromodeling for nearly 40 years, got started again about 15 months ago but had a break of eight months with no modeling, the first model i build on coming back was the TN b17, i used to fly control line stunt with Merco 35s !!! so everything is new including the glue !!
And i dont even know how to use a volt meter

I have had to have a break from modeling, with the wet and cold weather were having the arther ritus in my hands has been bad, and the CA glue is killing me, got in my lungs and i feel like shite.
Still waiting for the shipment of odourless CA to arrive from Hong Kong 5 weeks now, they were the only people that would ship it.
So nothing to report.

And there is one other thought I'm having after reading a review in a local magazine (Airborne) - I wonder how the Blackbird would go with a pair of Jetcat 140 RX Gas Turbines in it????? :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Looks most impressive (and big!).

Further to Eric's thread about ways to find the CofG for various wing shapes how on earth do you calculate it for an SR71 with all that fuselage area?;)

I can't get youtube to copy across, either, so I've gone back to the copy url method!

What I do is find the clip I want to copy, then at the top of the page there is the gibberish. Hold the left click down and wipe across it so it goes blue. Right click to get the download box, left click copy - go to the forum, and right click to get the drop-down, left click paste.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
