There's an awful lot of sheet balsa on this one Tony, any idea how the weight is holding up?
I can imagine it'll need a fair bit of poke, but have you any idea what the all up weight will be?

Pol,

I just own the forum .... you guys make it great thanks.

right decided to do a bit more. (i need to clear all the back log of builds)

cut out one flap, finished sheeting it and did the hinges.

first time using robart hinges.

thats full down at 1.75 inches.
aileron on that side next, then we can do flap and aileron on the other side.

we now have 2 flaps :cheer:

Both ailerons sorted and the wing tips shaped and sanded.

wing back on to check flap fit against the wing fairing.

next we have to take the wing off agian and fit the flap servo's and decide about retracts.
though they will have to go on hold until i have the funds, so i will go back to the fuselage and sort out battery trays and cockpit details.

built a vertical battery box that sits behind the fire wall, it will take 3 x 3s batteries or a couple of 4s depending on what motor and power requirements will be needed.
need to make a slide in box for the rx next, then i can look at the cockpit area.

yup its all scale pol.
want to put more detail in on this one, need to push myself to improve on my build skills and learn more tricks.
so we are going for a full cockpit and pilot on this one and maybe even rivet detail( though that might be a step too far)

battery box in place.

gun ports in place, i need to blend these into the wing before covering.

Now not in the original kit, but fitted to the real thing is the outlet for the radiator scoop.
this gave an extra 4 top 5 mph when open.

Cut and sanded the exhausts.

filled the bottom of the nose molding where it was cut for an ic engine.

cut the air intake to help cool the motor and esc.

drilled the vent holes, 25 each side. these were vent panels on the full size as well, though they could be covered in cold weather.

just need to do the final sanding on the fuselage and i can start covering it.

It looks like a Merlin powered Mustang, then, not the Franklin one!
I hope you are providing more air outlet than these 50 drill-holes, but no doubt you've thought of that!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

there is another outlet under the nose to be cut out yet.
not that it will ever get finished.
no money to buy the motor/batteries needed.
