Ooooh, I remember the Galahad and, I'm sad to admit that I crashed a Fleeting on it's maiden flight while testing it for a colleague... Any chance of some build threads on those Doug?

Hi folks, I'm Ron and live in Guisborough North Yorkshire. I'm a member of my local flying club Guisborough model flying club. I've been modelling for well over 40 years now and my favourite aspect is single channel (on the button) and retro radio control including all the retro models that go with it. My trade is a television engineer and have had my own business repairing TVs for nearly 30 years so I'm obviously into electronics. I have converted many retro sets to 2.4ghz and have also scratch built many single channel radios too.
I think my favourite part of aeromodelling is slope soaring though I do like electric models too. I've been fling the old Sharkface for years on the button, can't beat it.
Thanks for letting me join the forum and I hope I can add a little bit of interest to it
Thanks for reading
Ron

Hi , Im Tony.
Ive been aeromodeling since aged 11 , started with rubber band Kiel craft, progressed to start the Mills.75 chuck it and run Mercury Matador and Keilcraft Ladybird, Progressed to McGregger single channel push buuton once left turn twice for right turn. Then to 4 channel Mcgregger, then thought I woiuld be clever and purchased Micron radio kit built it myself but had to return the assembled unit as it didnt work. Happy days.
Since semi retired at 65 still flying but much slower, at 70 retired from the legal system and have more time now for my favourite hobby.
Ive put some questions on the forum page , hope I get a reply as the holiday season is approaching fast and I wish to fly a electric Flair Cub off the sands at Chapel St Leonards, Lincolnshire.

Right I'll do my intro, though I've been here a day or two.
Short, fat, bald, old, ugly and bad tempered, but nobody's perfect, right?
Aeromodelling since 1962 ish, free flight and control line on and off ever since. Had a go at RC in the late 80s, but learning on your own is a good way to wreck models without progressing too much. Trying again now and finally getting somewhere (slowly). Exclusively electric outdoors these days. I also fly indoor electric RC and CO2 and rubber free flight at Shawbury. I like to build both S&T and depron, but since I crash almost as often as I fly, I also have a selection of RTFs on hand.

Never underestimate the innate hostility of inanimate objects.
