Was it the new hot water tank? Maybe you should get the Landlady to fix it, it's her responsibility after all:evil:

Tony.... your smilies arn't working because there is no space between the word before the code
For example
no smily:cool:

smilies are placed by a code in the text
Code:
if there is no space between the final word and smily the system can't see it.

I made a mistake..I thought the old Cafe on Modelflying made it to 5,000 views.....it made it to 79,000 !!!!

I just hope we can do that here.

All said & done, it only took a few members to get to this figure....can we build it again?

Poly.

One of my favorites.
Prefer this live version to the original.

Well thanks to The Beard for inspiring me to buy a slow cooker, I ran it up for the first time on Fri with a half shoulder of lamb and loads of veg on board. I was worried about leaving it on for 12 hrs (albeit on low) but needn't have worried. What a delicious casserole smell greeted me upon my return.

Definately a smart purchase :)

Hello to all you "big brothers" that know I'm on line .I've beem trying to familiarise myself with what is ,& what isn't possible on here before I start trying to put the world to rights . For the last month (typical xmas for me) nothing has gone to plan .If I told you what had & hadn't happened in detail it would read rather like a cross between Eastenders & that Corrie crap. Some of you know I've moved & will be asking any boaties out there just what to update my two boats (Yes! I can swear!!)with I have got loads of radio gear but am not sure about brushless motor size /Kv etc , I'm not bragging (cough-cough ) but we have two rivers on our land & the fishing rights of course where the local anglers restock with trout regularly .So the beard (whoever he is )Knows where he can stuff his slow cooker .Then again ,they're great for pigs liver & onions with certain secret spices known only to 'er indoors
Can't think what to be grumpy about today cos Chrissy came back from Scarborough having bought me a piano with the proceeds of selling off some sheep yesterday & a nice S/H sofa & chair to match .What a difference to bloody Newcastle .No kids throwing stone everynight .Getting used to sheep coming into the kitchen accompanied by chickens let out first thing in the morning all wanting feeding .Wild birds-some of which I've only ever seen pictures come to the hanging feeders all day long. Herons and cormorants live off the river Derwent too
News flash!!!!! --'er indoors' secret recipe for liver But keep it to yourselves

Oxliver
onions
Oxo cube(s)
Lea & perrins sauce
No salt or pepper

& for the mash
Potatoes not overcooked like most English vegs are
Tablespoon of proper milk (not the semi-skilled rubbish that is mostly calcin
um & water
A good dollop of real butter with salt in it of course Not that crappy slimmers spread
Black ground pepper Plus lashings of white pepper
Proper sea salt (very important )
Mustard powder (to taste )
THere we are Mr Beard !!

Chrissy says " can she join the polysite ?" .Bear in mind she is of the other gender / Yorkshire /& swears
Apologies for not living up to my name but you'll have to provoke me to get me back to normal :woohoo:

It's great to hear from you Myron & yes Chrissy will be more than welcome on here. :woohoo:
We don't mind a bit of swearing in the Cafe but we may clamp down on people who try to abuse this....sometimes swear words are bloody good adjectives & adverbs for which there are no substitutes. ;)

I like the fact that you chose ox liver for the recipe, it's cheap as chips & is not as dry as expensive lambs liver. :cheer:

You do know Beard from the RCM&E forum...you spoke to him most days....It's Stephen, (guess)

I'll be putting out a post here shortly about possible changes to the site.
We did invite the old crowd here first so we could get an idea about what people want and how we should do things.....We want to make this your site and be democratic about it.

I just need to wake up first because that Kiwi gee has got me up all night on "Live Chat" and now I'm working on New Zealand time. :(

I'm glad you got away from the scallies that made your life a misery, enjoy yourself now.

I'm glad you found your way in, Myron. Piano??? Too bloody noisy! (unless you can really play it, rather than play WITH it!) Give me a RR Merlin any day! Now THAT'S a nice noise!

Ah - it's sideways!
ps re the new profile gimmick - the about you box isn't big enough!!! I got halfway through what I wanted to put in, and then it kept jumping back to the top and wouldn't allow any more words! (Does that mean I'm a gobby sod?)
