While looking for ways to help Tony I came across this
It's an emulator for Tonys' radio so you can try all the bells and whistles and see what they do
Then you can save the model file and send it to your radio if need be.
There seems to be an emulator for all the FrSky radios.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

I installed my first computer, a Hewlett Packard wages machine in 1980. Since then I have written Machine Code for CNC machine control, written background support programs for Bosch CNC controls, I even wrote code and built Tape emulators for Cincinnati machine tools. I have progressed through radio control via Hitec, JR2680, Mpx cockpit, Futaba 6EX, Futaba T9CP, Horus X12S and Futaba 14SG, I have never seen such a counter intuitive program as OpenTX as applied to the FrSky X7 transmitter. No wonder Tony is having problems, on the basis of what I've experienced to date I will never again recommend FrSky to anyone, ever again. Sorry FrSky you really dropped the ball on this one.

I've not looked at the new FRsky gear, but I have been looking at a new Radiomaster, which appears to be more logical (if you get the pun!)
I'm waiting to hear back if it is a multi-protocol set that will work Frsky X8R non-eu old format, eu lbt, and/or Futaba - to save buying a whole raft of new receivers.
There's nothing wrong with the tx's I have right now, but they are getting on a bit - the older one must be 15 years old, and in regular use. It's on it's second battery pack.
First reply to the query -
Looks to be ELRS only for the internal RF for now at least. There is nothing to stop you using a MPM module in the JR Micro bay though
