I went to Liverpool Royal Hospital yesterday with my 50 year old step son (that makes you feel old) to see the consultant about my weak kidneys coupled with my diabetes.
I had several questions about what happens next. My step son then asked "what is the long term prognosis" to which the consultant replied "Your step dad is nearly 79! At that age there are too many things that could go wrong to consider the long term. Now that makes you feel really old.
On the other hand the consultant did say don't worry everything is under control and going to plan.

Oh well! Nil desperandum

WOW, i looked on hobby king for some lipo's and found what i needed 6  5000 25C  5S @ £26 each so i just went through the order prosses  to see what it would all add up to including postage
It add up the postage and it came to £650 i mean thats just for the postage not including the lipo's

O well my return to aeromodelling did not last long, the price of stuff is out of order, maybe we should set up a company specially catering for the delivery of batteries
I have not looked at the price of balsa yet but no doubt its sky high as well, the price of the radio gear was very good i thought
Just had a letter from an insurance company that want to pay me out on a policy iv had for years and it always paid me so much a month, but because the original letter went to an old address, my lost sons, it got to me late and they received my reply i a day late and now they refuse to pay me out, crooked all of them
My daughter in law is very disappointed she must have had designs for it

A question for Eric and Tony which of the FRSKY radios Tx and Rx would you buy now minimum 8Ch
There seems to be a lot of different versions and lots of second hand out there and some seem to be good buys, not that iv ever bought second hand and was a Futaba man, i bought my first Futaba in the 1960s it had a 4 Ch yellow Tx and it came with Rx and 4 servos

I am also looking into FrSky radios as a possible alternative to my current Futaba T6K.  Here is a bit of the info I got in the last couple of days....

The FrSky ecosystem includes open source software which is kind of interesting along with voice / haptic feedback. Quick look at manuals for a few of these seemed rather more concise than the 160 pages of the Futaba manual.

Currently 8 channels is good enough and I am not going to be doing long distance and much beyond setting rates and limits and differentials I suspect many of the products will have excess functionality.  The FrSky does seem to support at least some telemitry out of the box - like Rx voltage which I am not getting from the Futaba (yet).

A couple of FrSky transmitters I have been looking at:

The Rx choices seem to be rather pricy and not included in the box. I have not gotten my head around ACCST vis D15 vs ACCESS vs 3rd party
suppliers of Rx.

The other one I looked at is Taranis X9 Lite - a bit smaller, less expensive. Not a bad looking beastie but the battery choice a bit clunky and the box does not seem to come with a receiver:

Seems like I need to get several Rx to limit the stress on the beasties of shifting from model to model. My current lack of knowledge about FrSky Rx options is limiting me. The ACCESS limits the Rx choice, but other protocals mentioned.  And it would be nice to reliably be able to use 3rd party Rx such as:
