Nothing special is required here. You do not need to be a great writer or photographer. When looking to flash the cash, people are more interested in the facts. a good format to follow would be this. Make the topic title the name of whatever you're reviewing. Tell us a few things about it. Where...

HobbyKing and the Avios Team collaborated with RC Groups to provide this excellent rendition of the real Extra 300 LX owned and flown by RC Groups founder Jim Bourke. The original planes color scheme was worked on by Italian designer Mirco Pecorari and is based on the RC Groups color scheme. This...

My buddy James brought his new radio controlled DC-3 out for its maiden flight yesterday (Christmas Eve). It didn't quite go to plan...good outcome in the end though. A bit of fibre tape and persistence pays off. :)

He'd gone with the CG stated on the RCGroups thread. Transpired it wasn't correct. For second flight he pushed the flight pack forward to get the HobbyKing CG and it flew well. Weird how it would be wrong on a thread dedicated to the model but hey ho. In hindsight he might have got away with it if...

Some might recall the Ripmax 'Alienator' forward swept wing RC aeroplane from about 15 years ago. I had one and never got it flying. I feel redeemed having assembled this awesome wing in a few minutes and it flew brilliantly. Great fun on a Winters day.

Got my hands on the new version of the Bixler 3 a few weeks back ahead of its launch yesterday (6th December). Minutes to put together. Apparent changes from the original are larger space up front for bigger lipos, so more flight time. Re-designed for FPV. It comes with a pre-assembled ply mount for...

The 3 seems to have less prop noise, but is more 'whiney' than the mk's 1 and 2. It will be interesting to hear one in 'real life' rather than on-screen, of course, as camera mike's don't always hear things the same way as protein ears do. They do seem to be popular trainers/rough field models.

Was sent this to try out. Decent size and comes with 2.0MP cam that transmits to your smart phone with a downloadable App , captured to a micro SD card. 2 speed modes. Comes with 2 batteries each of which give a good 10 minutes flying time. I thought it was good if you want to try out FPV and aerial...

I didn't Eric. My vids are viewed worldwide so BMFA wouldn't apply to the whole audience. I was thinking of just conveying basic common sense rather than go into detail. Viewers just wouldn't read it if I did that.

Have been flying FPV for a while now and if there's one thing I've learnt is that not all FPV cams are the same. RunCam make the best spec cams at the moment and the most recent Eagle 2 Pro has a lot of configuration options to change the image based on your preferences and conditions. Well worth...

Doesn't get much easier than this. No glue. Just push the wings onto the fuselage and the elevons, plug in your receiver and go. Dropped in a 3S1300 pack and put a RunCam2 on the nose to balance. Fortunately it was blowing a gale outside so really did test out the included gyro flight stabilisation...

Second outing with the ZOHD Nano Talon....this time only low wind as opposed to the storm conditions I flew in last time. Allowed me to play with the 'beginner' stabilisation/gyro mode. Really surprised me how easy it made it to fly this plane. If you were a first time RC pilot you would have NO...

Great to get a wing that just requires 4 screws to put together. No glue. Took more time to apply the 6 decals than it did to get it flight ready. 90cm wingspan so good size. Comes with everything pre-installed and a 3-in-1 cam/VTX/antenna that fits into a purpose made recess in the wing. Needs a...

Hard to imagine they could improve the 2014 version of the EFX Racer but seems they have done it with increased internal capacity to take up to 6S (if you change up to 80A ESC), full wing spars, FPV ready, slope soaring nose cone, props for 3S and 4S power etc. Fitted mine out with a RunCam FPV...

Hey Eric...to answer your question, the EFXtra is definitely faster than the Excalibur on 4S and can be cranked up to 6S1500 apparently. They are very different models to fly. Excalibur very nice for those unpowered dives, level out for low slow axial and 4/8 point rolls, out to reversal and cruise...

Good to see another company competing with E-Flite in this space. Fairly impressed by this although in 3D mode it is sensitive especially in roll. Easily resolved by extending the sticks I think. Looks good and flies very well in both 6G stabilised and 3D aerobatic mode. Available here...

Currently only $30 and you get the plane, flight battery, charger and transmitter. Crazy prize for something that will fly outside and at indoor sessions during the Winter....

At 1.3m wingspan this is a decent size for an aerobatic model but the innovative servo connection system for the wings means breaking it down for transport (and assembly at the field) is very quick and easy with no servo lead connections.
