Gave it a second coat of diluted pva this morning and left to dry.
then slopped a skim of filler over the joins in the paper and when dry sanded the nose smooth.

can't do anything more now till the depron turns up. :( :(

i was worried that the rivets would not show and that i had wasted my time doing them all, so i slopped some paint on the nose just to see if they looked ok.

not brilliant, but better than on the hurricane.

few issues with the brown paper joins, but still better than the TSR2 covering.
one day i will get it spot on, maybe the next model. :P

papered the nose and the front underside today.
filled any gaps in the paper and left to dry.
tomorrow i will sand it all smooth and give another coat of pva, then i can mark it up and do more rivets.

Had ten days break from this while i worked on getting the stearman ready for flying, but as i am now awaiting some parts i dug out the depron and made a start again.

sat for ages working out the drawings and marking up the wing centre section cores and then cutting them out.

60 inch span on the centre section :)

working on the main spars now.

How and why did you put the holes in? :)

holes are there to save some weight, i will be doing the same to the flat sheet later as well.

i use a sharpened tube to cut the holes.

took a deep breath and cut the outer wing panels.

cut two ply joiners and joined the top of the centre section together, will do the same with the underside when it has been built.

thats a 1ft rule on the wing.
