You’ve got the 3D printing down to a fine art pretty quickly, what kit are you using now? The quality looks really good, so you’ve Certainly cracked the CAD issues.
Thanks: Ex-Member, boz

I now have a Prusa i3 mk3 printer, not cheap but the quality is far superior than the one i was using.

re the design, it is a mindset situation. once you have that it becomes easier to do.

I think my Wanhau is up to the job but I couldn’t get my head around CAD. I’ve put TurboCad into my computer but struggled with it. I decided to book myself into a 10 week introductory evening course on CAD at Dudley College and I’m half way through it. We’re using AutoDesk/Autocad and it’s not the same as TurboCad, but as I grasp the similar principles I hope I can get to grips with it. I’m still spending too much time working I’m afraid and that’s part of the problem. Really you’re doing exactly what I’m trying to do.
Thanks: boz

I think you've hit the nail on the head . Also wouldn't loading bombs in at an angle take up more room. Just a thought :silly: ?

i use a cheap cad program, it cos me £8.00.
for 3d i use blender cos it is free.
it is a complicated system but once mastered produces good results, especially on figures.
you wait till you see the Shackleton cockpit, i am printing ever detail i can.

needs another coat yet Eric - - Yes it's pretty chilly outside [badass]

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Thanks One Tenor. They certainly would take up more space, wouldn’t they? I think there’s no doubt that the panniers would create a significant lift element and it would be important to neutralise that. The Wellesley also flew without them and it would be important to eliminate any de-stabilising effect they would otherwise cause. The point that Quonung made about ease of bomb loading is a good one of course, although I’m inclined to think the aerodynamic factor might be the significant one. There were also two different sizes of panniers as well and apparently sometimes they were flown without the lids, though I’ve never seen a photo of that.

Tony, thanks, I’ll take a look at Blender. One thing I’m finding is that my Mac isn’t as user friendly as Windows for some of these things. I struggle to get some downloads to work at times.
