The thing that always amazes me is the size of the rotor shaft. It is transmitting over 1000hp (at low revs) and holding up nearly 4 tons all at the same time! :woohoo:

Whilst driving down an Autobahn in the late 60s a flight of about 20 flew over. You could hear the syncopated beat of the rotors long before you could see them - even above the roar of a Hillman Imp (875cc!) at 70 mph!

I recently finished these two Russian Military sleds. I didn't know they existed until I saw the kits. The smaller one is powered by an in-line water cooled engine.
(First attempt at posting photos!)

Just a quick one. I am making a 1/72 Dambusters Lancaster. Does anyone have details of exactly where the rear downward facing Aldis lamp was situated?

I have spent hours looking, but there is nothing in my books nor can I find it on the internet. It was in the rear of the blanked off bomb-bay, but I need the exact location. Thanks.

Some really nice work Skyhawk, the weathering on the ac-47 is awesome.
Love those Russian sleds. Must have been fun riding on them!!!

Somebody called me 'pretentious' the other day.

I nearly choked on my latte.

That's a realistically tatty Huey, Sky!

As an aside, while I was posting the pic on my build blog, I heard a heavy battering sound from outside, that didn't quite sound like a Chinook., so I went for a look. There was a Huey in the far distance, making it's usual hell of a noise, too far off to photograph, seemingly going to Barton. (Going north, anyway!)

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
