Auster mk5 was created by Ex-Member

got the plans today for a 72" wingspan version.

not going to start it for a little while, but i can start planning it out.

want to push my scale build ability's a bit more with this one.
hope to be able to sort out the stitching and cockpit details better.

Now I'm interested in this one, I like the looks & I may be looking for a high wing model. ... I mentioned that to Garry yesterday..... What glue do you need?

been scaling up the plans on and off today (sons car AGAIN)

starting to make some headway.

It looks like you have a fuselage brace right across the door opening.
Now if the brace went across the other diagonal.....

have moved the bracer that crossed the door opening and have put one in the door that will brace when it is shut.
battery tray is marked out as is the hatch and motor mount plate.
need to look at the top of the fuselage along the wing seat next.

"...the fuselage is sheeted..." does seem a bit odd as the full size was a fully triangulated framework (in steel tube).

yeah it is basically a box, then some stringers added to the sides to wrap the covering over.

don't know if i want to completely re design the thing or just mod what has been done.
might just do it the (sorry Garry) way they designed it but cut some holes in the sheet sides to lighten it.

anyway i mucked up the fin drawing. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

have to re do it later.

you have not seen the pile of eraser rubber on the floor from the endless corrections.
then i do it again in ink and make a mistake i can't rub out. humpf........

OH POOOOOOOOO just had a look at the frame work pic and all the ribs in the fin and rudder are wrong, got too many.
need to re draw it all. sugar sugar sugar.
fuselage plan is wrong as well.
time to screw it all up and start again. humpf

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sounds awfully complicated to me.

i might have bitten off a bit too much with this one.
