Tony, coming along nicely, love those fancy green clamps.

Them green clamps are actually clothes pegs.

can't remember where i got them from, but they have nice soft rubber pads that helps protect the foam.

Not been doing much to models lately as i have had other jobs to do.
Still i managed to get some more done the wing centre section today.
I have made the underside spars and started adding the ribs.
The very centre of the wing will be flat so it will slot into the fuselage neater.



Then the ribs slide down alongside the fuselage sides to make a neat join... i hope.


The fuselage top will be build round the wings once i have run all the wiring.



we plod on.

decorating comes first.

Well today has been a slow steady day.
Finished fitting the trailing edge ribs and then started the underside sheeting.



The gaps are where the nacelles have to be constructed.

I still have to trim the edges of the sheet back yet.
the top of the wing will not be sheeted until i have run all the wing tubes and wiring, a job i hate.

well i have got very little done today as i have been helping the wife painting. ho hum

cut the hinge points out of 6mm Balsa and glued them into slots cut into the 6mm Depron cores.

then i glued top two spars down to the foam... that's all i managed to get done.



i will be using pin hinges for the ailerons and not the mylar ones that i used in the rudder and elevators.

Made the underside spars and glued them home today.
cut the wing tips out of white 3mm Depron and glued them home.
then i fitted the hinge blocks into the ailerons and fitted the aileron spars.

I have also drawn up the ribs for the outer sections in cad and have printed them off.
tomorrow i will be cutting them out and gluing them in place.

we plod on.

I have ribbed the underside of the wing today, cut the aileron servo holes and then sheeted it.
tomorrow i hope to finish building the ailerons and then i can hinge them to the wings.

Slight concern at what appears to be a reduced spar depth over the fuselage, right at the point of maximum bending load?

the centre section will be glued in place and there will be two aluminium tubes running across the width of the centre section as well.

so fingers crossed.

Ailerons made.

Outer nacelles designed and printed out ready for cutting.
that is a job for another day.

Well i managed to get something done this afternoon, not much i have to say though.
Cut out the nacelle cores from 6mm lite ply and glued on the motor mount.
I need some gussets round the mount yet.
The construction slides over the 6mm wing core and then buts up to the spar on the underside.


The rear section on the nacelle core is just depron.
Then i started adding the formers.


The whole lot will be covered with 3mm Depron and then merged into the wing sheeting.

The inner nacelles will be more complicated as they have the retracts in them.

I will do the rest tomorrow... I hope.

had a busy busy day doing other jobs today
but i managed to get an hour this evening.
finished adding all the formers to the outer nacelles.



started sheeting the undersides of them as well.



i am hoping to get the inner nacelles designed and cut out by the weekend, jobs permitting.
