Been Flying

WELL i got it wrong about summer being here till December it's bloody raining again, no sun.
Saterday, the only good flying day this year and i forgot to switch on the plane.

the rain is in again here as well.

Our club closed the strip last Autumn for resurfacing. We paid a professional contractor to churn it up, level it, seed it & roll it.
We were assured that it would be ready to use sometime in March.
Now we have some people wanting to go there in force & sort the thing out ourselves, it's in a worse state than it was before the work started.
Some of the members are saying that we should demand our money back ..... I think I agree.
The contractors were told about the problems months ago .... I even went there & took some soil samples. I couldn't find any trace of any new grass seed, & I'm qualified in Natural Sciences.
Somebody has just e-mailed us a picture of the surface as it is now .... take a look at this load of crap!
Even if we attacked the place ourselves, I can't see us flying there for another few months.
Summer will be over before I can get out again! .... unless I go and play with Garry.

Just had another e-mail from the club chairman stating that the contractors are going to have another look at the site.
The contractors haven't issued an invoice yet so ... apologies from me.

"the contractor has not yet issued an invoice for the work. This is not an oversight, he is waiting to see that there is a satisfactory outcome in view of the necessity to reseed last October."

My thoughts to Eric,you sure you went in for a heart op. Poly you rascaly young girly you,hope you havent got some of those rogue inplants

Difficult to make a decision on pics alone but if I voiced an opinion I would say your club has been conned. On reflection you cant be conned if you havent paid, but if I recieved a bill for that pathetic attempt, I would return it with a very curt letter

Well, Im back from an excellent flying session, all on my own. Perfect weather, warm and a slight breeze straight up and down the runway. Had to come home, as used all the lipos, and the box holds 14. Not a scratch on any of the models, just a lot of lipos to recharge.

How many lipos get used in your hearing aid Garry.How long a flight do you normally have.You are probably the most active member of your flying club and noone ever sees you.

No prob with hearing Beard, main trouble is I just love flying, and am able to fly in the week

Normal flight time is 10 mins, so 14 flights equates to 2 hours and 10 mins actual flying. Phew, never thought about it that way. I must stress this only happens when I am on my own, as there is no one to talk to.

Most of the Langar club fly on Saturday and Sunday, but because I am retired, I fly in the week.

The Swinderby club only has about 20 members, and as I have only been a member for a few weeks, I have only met two. Once again they fly mainly at the weekend.

last Sundays flight- after we crashed easystars- just finished the edit late last night-

I was going flying this morning, woke to find a howling gale, rain, hailstones, thunder/ lightning and huge waves crashing on the beach, so i think thats it for Febuary no flying for the last 6/7 weeks because of the weather,
