rudder leading edge shaped.
robarts fitted.
hidden control arm made and fitted.
rudder snake fitted inside the fuselage, i takes a 1m snake to get anywhere near the front.
so i am now sealing the fin and rudder, then i will cover them ready for fitting.

the completed fin and rudder.

shot of the control link, it needs fixing to the fin when complete.

fin and rudder in place while the first covering coat dries.

you can see the rudder snake running through the fuselage.

I like the idea with the rudder linkage, but it looks a bit short the snake will have to be well supported so as not to bend, it will have a lot of force against that short linkage from the rudder, i think
I do like this build, very unusual

its the only way you could get it inside the fuselage.
the snake is supported every 6 inches down the fuselage.
worse come to the worst, i will have to fit a horn to the outside and re-rout the snake.
its how they did it on the plan, so once the fin and rudder are fixed in place i will sort out the servo tray and try it.

anyway, been painting.
painting it off the fuselage because getting straight lines would be near nigh impossible once it is glued in place.

i know the swastika is sensitive to some people, but if i can do a Lancaster, zero or mustang with full markings i do not see why i can not do the same with the heinkel.
No malice is intended, it is just a model.
But i will not post anymore pictures of this stage of the painting and if the mods feel the need to delete this post. then that is fine and i understand.

Nothing wrong with it you are doing a scale model,
And you have a steadier hand with the paintbrush than me

I feel there is no need at all to delete your post Tony. The Heinkel was a German airoplane, and therefore would have had a swastika. Hope you are not proposing to put RAF roundels on it, cos if so, then I would be tempted to delete THAT :woohoo:

I do like the ship builders way of supporting the fuselage formers in the right place, as long as your base line is straight there's no chance of ending up with a Banana! And, so much lighter than building two halves and gluing them together.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

That is a truly beautiful fuselage construction but the thought of repairing it if it gets broken..... :woohoo:
