with that in mind i cut the tailplane and fin cores this afternoon.

Good decision Tony, you only need an all flying tailplane if you intend to go supersonic............

Agreed an all moving tailplane is needed for supersonic flight but it does work subsonic as well. It all depends on how scale you want to be ;) ;)

just dont want the complication of all moving tailplains and fins.
just extra weight at the rear of the aircraft and seeing as there will be a motor/ esc and prop hanging on the rear anyway.

I can see you building a roof-box for it, like BB did for his Blackbird! :P

Getting the c of g right will be 'interesting' with such a long fuselage, and such a short couple between main and tail planes!
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest making up a scrap pieces 'chuckie', and see where that balances for a good flight, as a start point.

thought i would have a tsr2 day today to give my hands a rest and as the paint for the vulcan has not turned up yet either.

Made the wing to fuselage mounts today.

the underside of the wing is flat where it sits in the fuselage hence the flat floor.
tongue on the wing slots into the hole in the front former and the rear will be fixed to the support with two wing bolts.

wing fits fine now and is square.

then i started the tailplanes and elevators, need to cut lots and lots of ribs next.

cut the rudder out of the fin and faced the l/e with 6x6 balsa.

then i took a look at the nose cone.

will have to make a solid silver slot in nose ariel next i suppose. :P
