A nice sized Bristol Beaufighter

put the hatches in for the servo.s
 
So the next job was the fit the plugs onto the servo wires, both ends, a fiddly job at best but with my with my crap hands and eyes, god
 
 
And NOTHING WORKS   i drew the connections as i made them, cannot believe it

The plugs are the right way round Eric on my Rx the yellow is at the top, i found the problem
With only 15 wire its surprising how many wrong combinations you can have 
 

Had the heat shrink tubing turn up today so i could finish planking the nacelle 
 
And still experimenting with the landing legs
 
And iv sorted all the wiring out and aileron flaps and retracts are all working 

Done some more on the main legs
 
And started to fit the flaps, not as per the drawing
 
 
 
And doing the wiring loom for the other wing
 
Making sure i get it right this time, only 9 wires in this one 

What is acting as the hinge on the flap?  A wood dowel or something else?

There are 3 hinges Jon you can just see them in the first photo

Started to sheet the other wing, put the pro skin on first
 
Then the 2mm balsa
 
 
Started the fuselage planking 
 
 

Iv had 2 bad days iv broken more than iv built,   just seem to be so ham fisted these days
I have the tail wheel working both retracting and steering
 
push rod from the servo to a bell crank then wires to the tail wheel and another pushrod to the fin
Started to make the doors for the landing gear making the plug from blue foam 
 
 
 
couple of servos mounted for the fin and elevator 
 
And i glued the plugs for the motor wires just enough to hold them in position so i could fix after removing the wing, only the wing would not come off   had to resort to a claw hammer and screwdriver to get it apart
 
with the expected damage, still no crying mojo

 

There is one thing that i do well and thats bleed, 
 
Took it out side to put it together
 
 

Goodness with the slabs for scale the Beaufighter scale is becoming clearer.  A beauty despite the ad hoc paint  Certainly going to need a rather large field for flying.
